I just learned recently that there's professional grade vinegar you can get at home depot and it does all kinds of cool shite.
Used it as weed killer so far, but interested to read some more applications.

Is there an advantage to using this over Clorox? I've always done bleach and haven't had any issues.
Plus I like that it makes the house smell super clean for a little while when I pour it a little too fast .

Bought a new house a couple months ago and finally have the garage space to get organized. Over the years I've inherited a mountain of old American-made tools from my dad and grandfathers....Craftsman, Proto, Channellock, Klein, etc. Great tools, but they'd spent years getting tossed in open tool bags, plus being in Houston with our humidity, resulted in a lot of them having surface rust spots or completely rusted over.
Picked up a new rolling tool chest off FB Marketplace and decided to renew them before organizing everything. Turns out plain old 5% distilled white vinegar works incredibly well. The acetic acid reacts with the iron oxide (rust) and loosens/dissolves it without attacking the good steel nearly as aggressively as stronger acids.
Process couldn't be much simpler:
> Soak the tools in 5% distilled white vinegar for about 6–8 hours.
> Scrub them with a Scotch-Brite pad or wire brush.
> Rinse, dry them immediately, then wipe them down with a light coat of oil to prevent flash rust.
Cheap, easy, and surprisingly effective. There's something satisfying about bringing a 40 or 50-year-old American made tool back to life instead of tossing it and buying another piece of imported junk.

Bleach can start corrosion on your evaporator coil.
