I remember watching that game as a Blues fan.

Side note--those 90s era Blues sweaters were cringe.

If you get impact right under the rib cage on and upward motion this can happen. The good news is that if addressed quickly he can recover fast.

He never lost consciousness. Never received CPR. Played for over a decade afterwards

In my day that was referred to as "having the wind knocked out of you". That wasnt "suddenly died", like we saw last night for 8 minutes

Back when I was in emergency medicine it was so common we just called it "The Commish." Sometimes we got 3, 4, 5 cases a day. Totally.

You keep repeating this falsehood. He did lose consciousness and it was attributed to Commotio Cordis.

It is similar, but also different from what occurred last night. Chris’s incident only resulted in the heart skipping a beat or two but they did cut open the front of his jersey. In an interview posted in the other thread Chris alludes to having received defib on the ice.

Not really, Prongers injury was just a palpitation from the puck slamming into his chest..

Hamlin had a heart attack on the field..

While they are both heart related issues they aren't really the same...
