Does not have a lot to do with this video, but I have always thought one of the most beautiful things is immediately after a storm, how peaceful and serene the water is on a beach.

The eye of Andrew went over SE BR. I remember going outside distinctly, and watching the weather deteriorating quickly as back of eye wall approached.

Didn't the eye of Andrew go over near BR?

Went over Lafayette too. Remember playing basketball with my brother during it and then my mom coming to tell us to get back inside before the wind picked back up.

It wouldn’t have gone over Baton Rouge and Lafayette when it went from south to north through the state. It didn’t go over Baton Rouge. It was much closer to Lafayette.. mainly went through the spillway.

I wanna say Gustav too. Or at least pretty damn close. I remember sitting through hell and the weather subsiding and thinking, "whew, it finally passed!" And it just picking up again for another few hours as it just sat there.

ETA: scratch that, just looked it up. It didn't.

Neither did Gustav.

Hurricanes are made up of bands of bad weather that wrap around the center. A strong band will come through and the weather will be bad. Then it’ll pass and subside before another one comes through.
