Also, you should already have a way to get your wife's attention without having to open your mouth.
She's 8 months pregnant, that ain't happening.

My doctor put me under. I didn't even have an option of an office visit style procedure. They did the IV. I was talking to the nurse rolling me into the room, and woke up neutered.
Edit. I only took Tylenol once that weekend. Never needed the heavy stuff. Just frozen Peas.
Also, no don't drink beforehand. But make your wife bring you drinks if you aren't on the hard stuff afterwards.

Wear tight compression boxers after and keep everything on ice. I'm concerned that the doc didn't get you a valium.

I never had pain but getting used to the clips in there was a struggle...feels like your boys are on a short string when tea bagging....makes you a lil timid with marble handling by others...other than that, not an issue...10mg Valium...I didn’t listen to instructions as far as WHEN to take it...walking into office, I dropped the Valium...peak time was when they were actually prepping me...over in a couple minutes...

Seriously
Surgeon I went to orders a 10mg Valium and used local anesthetic for every vasectomy... it’s his protocol. Wants patients chilled and just laying there. Assumed it was something similar most places
My urologist called my insurance to see what options I had for the vasectomy. He told me they covered anesthestia 100%...easiest decision I ever made.
valium, aneshesia...bourbon afterward.... I was chill for the next 4 days. Very easy surgery

The impending fondle, cut, snip, burn, stitch has me a bit nervous. Drinking a beer beforehand a bad idea?
Dude they didn't give you a preemptive pain pill and valium?
They loaded me up good before my snip. My dad had to drive me to and from. I was giddy as a school girl.

That was pretty much my experience. No valium(though he offered it) and just some slight discomfort. One side was more sensitive than the other and he had to shoot some more juice in there to deaden it, but that was about it.
The hot nurse was probably in her 50's, walked in with a huge syringe with like a 5" needle on it. My eyes got huge, and she just laughed and said she was just joking. Then she started prepping the area and said "don't worry, yours is just as big as everyone else's" and I died laughing. I loved her demeanor and sense of humor.

I had a martini before and two after. Had several the next day while I iced the boys with frozen peas. Only needed one or two on day 2. Didn’t take one pain pill and didn’t need it even after the local wore off.

It’s not that bad. The key is afterwards make sure you keep ice on it do what the doctor says. No physical activity. Lay around and be lazy are suffer the consequences

Hit the peptides so the doc has a handle for leverage.

The shot is basically a pinch on your ball sack and the only pain I had during the actual procedure was when he was moving stuff around to get to the left vas, it felt like he was squeezing my ball a little but it was temporary.
When my doc did the right side it wasn't too bad, but the shot on the left, I felt that shite down in my foot. Pain left in like 2 seconds though. Overall, the procedure wasn't bad at all. Waiting to bust one was the worst part.
