I would have thought chocolate strawberry pizza would be the perfect product to take market share from the supper club

Never had it but schlitz is still open?

Yep.In a few miles stretch of Perkins you got Shlitz, Red Zeppelin, Jabby, Pizza Artista , Gattis, Pizza Art Wine and Rotolos and they are all still in business so Var's must have really sucked.

I really enjoyed the place. I thought it was great for the neighborhood. It was the place to go to after kids sports. The playground was really cool too. Dang I’m really bummed out.

Led Zeppelin was down the road for Pizza/Beer.

How are Jimmy, Robert, and John doing these days? Odd they would pop into BR for some suds and a slice.

They couldn’t drum up enough business without Bonham.

Desert pizza is tough to pull off. The only good one I have had in Louisiana is the Pizza Shoppe in Metairie

It was hands down the worst pizza I ever had, went once about a month after it opened, it lasted a little over a year longer than I thought it would

Also the BBQ spot before Vars Pizza only lasted maybe a year

Unleaded BBQ

Deserved to be closed. Any BBQ place that does not know the difference between Baby Back and St. Louis ribs does not deserve to be open

We need a good wing place in BR

How can a person continue to get loans and open restaurants that last only a year or two?

this is a good question. is he generationally wealthy? none of his businesses seem to last long enough to be bankable.

He always seems to have a different partner for each project. I'd assume the partner is the source for money.

He must be very skilled in making friends and talking them into the deals of a lifetime.
