I will always remember him as Doc Holliday. He nailed that role. You're no daisy Johnny Ringo, you're no daisy at all.

So many great films in his acting vault.

The Ghost in the Darkness was another favorite or mine with him and Michael Douglas

He is one of my favorite actors of all time. Today I learned he was the youngest person to ever be admitted to the Juilliard School, but he quit to run off with Cher. I need to add Willow, the Saint, Tombstone and Real Genius to my rewatch list.

Amazing that he went from playing Chris Knight in Real Genius then turned around was was Ice Man in for his next role.

He made playing iconic roles look easy so while he was credited with being an icon, he was never considered one of the best actors of his generation. Which he was.

I’m truly sad to hear the news but at the same time am happy his last role in Top Gun Maverick sent him out on a high note.

quote:

The cause was pneumonia, said his daughter, Mercedes Kilmer. Mr. Kilmer was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2014 but later recovered, she said.

Beats cancer only to die from pneumonia. Damn.

Kind of poetic that he died from a lung/respiratory ailment just like Doc did(TB)
