Yes and we are rated every year as the most unhealthy state. West Virginia is also very strict on vaccine laws and is also one of the most unhealthy states. Vaccines can cause a lot of shite to go wrong. I did not believe it until I lived it with my kids.

Why should I risk their lives to give them a vaccine when the thing they are vaccinating against is not really that serious or that probable?

Measles kills kids. So does polio. So does pertussis.

If everyone decided not to vaccinate their kids....we would be seriously fricked.

I'm starting to believe some people are just saying their kids have autism because they don't want to deal with outbursts or correct their behavior.

Fatasses are unhealthy.

And i like the scientific explanation of your kids. Inother words, they probably act like dad and are unhealthy, chips off the old block

We are not talking about everyone. We are talking about people that cannot. And FYI, measles can kill kids but it's very rare to happen. It's also very rare to catch it. So... if I know my kids cannot tolerate vaccines and that it will make them sick, I am supposed to do it anyway to prevent something that they are highly doubtful to get and even more doubtful to die from?

With your children having a legitimate reason it is understandable that you avoided vaccination. I think its the "chicken little" parents that most here are mocking. But the herd immunity provides protection for the small amount of non vaccinated if done correctly.

ETA: Im an engineer and know very little about medicine. Just remembered an article that praised MS once.

I honestly don't know much about this, but where did this whole autism being connected to vaccination "myth" come from?

I just googled this just out of curiosity, but on a website called Autism Society, it states that 1% of the world's population has autistic spectrum disorder which is roughly 70,000,000 people.

Again, I know very little about autism, but even IF vaccinations were to cause autism in some children, it seems like there is a higher chance of having a child with autism simply by getting pregnant than a child becoming autistic by receiving vaccinations.. If that makes sense.

I just don't understand the logic. Isn't more harmful to not have a child vaccinated?

Then as a parent of a child that cannot be vaccinated due to medical reasons(assuming this is the case and the recommendation of your pediatrician)....you should really be encouraging others to vaccinate their kids. To protect your children by herd immunity.

I didn't realize this until a few weeks ago. A friend of mine's wife is a teacher and this subject came up and I asked her how do kids, whose parents don't want to get them vaccinated, get them into school. And she said they have to sign papers saying the reason their kids are not vaccinated is due to religious beliefs.

That's some crazy shite.

The whole religious beliefs excuse is a slippery slope. We allow children to marry and get habitually raped by grown men because of bullshite religious loopholes.

We need to stop indulging obviously immoral actions that negatively affect society because it makes religious people feel good.

This exactly. Lardmass, the reason it's unlikely that your kids get vaccine preventable illnesses is because of vaccines. You should be singing their praises, if it's legit that your children actually cannot be vaccinated.

Parents don't decide to not vaccinate just for the hell of it. There are multiple reasons. Some kids, like mine, have a genetic mutation making vaccine additives toxic for their bodies.

The point is that many of the diseases people aren’t vaccinating for DO cause death.

False. Most parents who don’t vaccinate do so because they think it causes autism or some other cognitive disorder.

You get a pass if your child’s health is legitimately at risk from vaccination.
