From what that article says, he could have hit the rocks and was still breathing when he hit the water and inhaled some into his lungs.

I would think during the autopsy they would find major trauma from you know, hitting rocks. There's no mention of that.

Also from the article:
quote:

She was in a boat that the couple had hired. Their two children, the eldest one four, were with her. She was recording the jump and was apparently streaming it live on the internet.

Social media claims another fool.

I don’t understand. You jumped off a bridge, but you were also in the boat and almost landed on the boat? How did you jump off a bridge while also in a boat?

The harrowing footage captured from a nearby boat — where the man’s wife and son were filming — shows the 31-year-old Dutch tourist readying to make the 100-foot plunge Thursday in the Malgrats Islands.

Hard to find the sympathy here.

You're 18? Yeah, I get it. We all did dumb shite. At 31 you should have had the realization that you can die. And with kids? Come on now. You're not hot shite. You're like everyone else here. You got kids to feed.

What a fricking idiot.

This article says the autopsy shows he hit the rocks, but did not die on impact. I guess we won't know for sure unless the actually autopsy is released. From his wife's cry before he hit the water, I thought he hit them too.

If you're gonna cliff jump, you do it from a spot you've just watched 40+ people do it from first.

It's a pretty bad autopsy since you can actually see him bounce off the rocks in the video (the unedited is on reddit).

He might not have died from that impact, but there was certainly a rocks collision on the way down.

From an update

quote:

The autopsy on the Dutch tourist who died on Thursday after jumping into the sea from a rockface on one of the Malgrats Isles has revealed that the cause of death was drowning and not impact with rocks.
