Wondering if anyone has taken a vacation to a dude ranch and if they recommend it as a family vacation?

You mean where you rope calves and sodomize bulls and... wait, that might not be the exact word for it. You amputate their nuts.

I went with a group of 8th graders with my son way back. I enjoyed it. Not really a dude ranch where you pretend to be a ranch hand though. They call it a guest ranch, more like a cowboy themed B&B. This one is right outside of Bandera, TX. Twin Elms Guest Ranch

If he's married it's more than likely his wife's doing lol.

At least two of my buddies' wives got into Yellowstone and almost immediately they started wanting to do horseback riding and shite for their birthdays. One of them got roped into a trip out to Yellowstone and the surrounding parks, which in and of itself is fantastic, but she insisted on spending thousands to stay at one of those ranches that is more upscale resort and spa than it is a true ranch. They had outdoor campfire upscale meals and shite prepared for them lol

It is a vacation. If you wanted to do it yourself, go hunting or stay home.

You can come out to my place in West Texas and pay me a couple grand to run you around and make you work your arse off all day. How are you at fixing barb wire fences and chopping off testicles with a pocket knife?

I did one at Smith Fork Ranch in CO. It was awesome, kids loved it. It was upscale.

Unfortunately the ranch shut down to visitors but I’m sure there are others.

ETA: looks like they are open to the public again
