Yeah, I get it. Not as bad as other years, but nowhere near flat.

It's averaged 3-5% for years. That's a ton of money in a 10-15 year period.

Employees piss and moan b/c their costs go up on their portion. Not one of em can figure that costs are going up for everyone, liberals and conservatives.

Their are actually some good parts of Obamacare, but by and large, it's a CF.

400/month just for the insurance, each person has 1250 deductible each before the insurance kicks in this 80/20 rule. Does anyone have any other comparison to a different plant or refinery? Not taking sides, do I think it should be better, YES!! Especially since it's been getting worse and worse. Just doing a little venting on here and sharing my opinions on here.

No sir my deductible only is $1250 a year, what some are complaining about is the loss of co-pay at the doctors office, pharmacy etc. Which my location no longer has. Example if your child has to go in each month for medications at the first of January 2015 I will out of pocket a % which I can tell you can be over $150 each month until the deductible has been met. When previously only paying $25.00. It is only when you reach your deductible of course you no longer have to pay as much. My daughters medicine went from $10.00 a month to $45.00 a month. So if you do the math I am paying out
Health insurance only
$1250.00 myself
$1250.00 #2 daughter hardly goes at all each year to the doctor
$ 150.00 month x 8 months just to reach deductible of $1250.( #1 daughters doctor visits ) just in deducts alone I paying $3750.00
$ 45x 12= $540.00 daughter #1 meds
$200.00 for my meds a year
I am paying a total of $4490 a year of of pocket for 3 previously only paid at most 2500.00 for 3. There are people paying out over $9000.00 just to reach deductibles this does not included expenses ( meds, blood work , ekg's etc).

Dental and vision not included above don't get me started on that. As a single mother of 2 girls this is a huge bill to us each year. Obamacare is higher

$1250 deductible/person is for the ppo plus plan and the premium is cheaper than the traditional ppo. The traditional ppo plan that I have at marathon for a family of 5 costs me $260/month with a $400 deductible/person. Hourly btw

Yeah, health care costs a lot. You were shielded from it for a long time, but your company (rightly so) could not continue to absorb the increases.

Guess what else?

It will continue to go up at a rate that far, far, outpaces inflation.

This is the real world.

So at this point we are still sitting at the original 9 sites on strike with everyone else on a rolling 24 hour extension?

LINK read the link the international union is now standing behind the USW which this union has 50 million members in 143 countries .

Marathon- Grayville is a non union facility as of right now. Even though Usw was there 3 weeks again and employees have already called the union trying to get organized to become union just days after they left.

I doubt Garyville will ever go union. It's been voted on and shot down multiple times.

Yes , this is the way it is now for MOST people, this is where you loose support from every other working American, we have been hit with these increases for years, but the entitlement attitude of plant workers that don't think they should have to pay more, even though everyone else already has been

ETA: combined with the overwhelming support the unions gave to Obamma, kind of feel like it is time for a dose of your own medicine

I thought 755 stated that there is a "hard stop" after 18 days in a row? I posted earlier that I just did an 18 stretch and had to take the required 72 hours off.

It is a recommendation each refinery sets it's own standard. If you received 3 days off after 18 your luckier then most. the refinery I am at was at the time 19/2 or a rolling 21/1 which in the 21 somewhere you have taken 2 days. Which has now changed to up to more then 21 days.

It is only a matter of time this facility will go union because of the wages and Benifits given to the union workers and I am not talking about insurance.
