Yeah, all of them I have heard of are enforced by the company. Therefore it is really just a procedure until it is redlined.
That's kind of where we are at right now. They put it on "pause" when we started passing out literature.

Soooo has anyone suggested what this might do to oil prices?

Nothing, different part of the stream

Doesn't apply to downstream

People hate the big oil companies but Gov't makes close to if not more profit off each gallon in taxes.

You should read the entire thread. Plenty of posts ate up with the DA's. Only want to see what they want to see.

Fox News has conditioned a certain demographic.
They blame the workers for high commodities when businesses are raking in profits of middle sized countries. They excuse behavior that results in destroying the environment and orchestrating wars because politicians masquerading as journalists make them believe it is patriotic to look down on the working class.

I tend to agree with this. Might as well call them state news agencies. Wait and see who they will paint as the bad guy in all of this. If it is up to many on this board then we might as well never try to improve because we are too greedy. We already have more than enough already.

I do contracts for projects and the god damn primadonna welders and pipe fitters are enough to drive anyone crazy. $38 an hour st is not good enough. $125 a day per diem is not good enough. Give me my extra for night shift and give me more because I had to park offsite. And give me more because I'm working hard and shite.
At my plant here in Texas this is all done by contractors...many of whom originated from south of the border. They do not make anywhere near those wages...and of course the benefits are shite.

I work for an e&p company
I don't know why unions are needed based on my job but it's a totally different environment
We get yearly raises and bonuses and great insurance and safety is their number one concern. We take more measures to ensure safety than probably any other company

API 755 gave me a day off with pay recently. After working 18 in a row 72 hours must be taken off for fatigue.

Marathonops, you obviously have no idea what your talking about. Salary supervisors are included in the fatigue policy.

Any news this morning? I'm hearing zero news!

News:
I'm currently watching a protest in downtown Houston at the corner or San Jacinto and McKinney. Outside of the Lyondell Basell headquarters.

Ten4. I'm here in SoLa and trying to keep my ear to the ground but I am hearing zilch. I did watch something online with the USW president talking about where the USW and Shell are currently at but nothing about local facilities.

Man these frickers are loud.

They say that they want Process Safety Officers. Does this mean when one of their 'Brothers/Sisters' are not following a procedure or taking a safety shortcut, will they "look the other way?"
I thought the 80/20 premium split was pretty normal across all industries, am I wrong?

A little rain haulted the protest. What? Union guys can't take a little rain?
Posted on 2/3/15 at 12:58 pm to purpletiger006
80/20 is common. I'm fine with my insurance just the way it is IMO. I'm guessing the hire ups in the union at the National level are wanting 90/10. Where I'm at we have people in Process Safety and their job is to make sure that the work load and work "atmosphere" is being handled correctly and adequately.
ie. Management can't just expect you to operate 3-4 units by oneself. That would be deemed a Process Safety Hazard and then Process a Safety rep would step in and intervene with management to work the situation out. Process Safety reps have nothing to do with the day to day safety as in human error safety. They focus more on the Process side of things.
