USPS is a complete waste of space

Ordered 60 Christmas stamps from USPS online on Dec 5. Emailed delivery estimate update that it would arrive this past Thursday by 10 pm. Thursday passed - no stamps. Friday passed - no stamps. Saturday update email saying stamps out for delivery same day. Saturday passed - no stamps. Sunday another update called a “delivery exception.” Claims now stamps will be delivered on Monday sometime. Meanwhile, still no stamps.
Refunds virtually a gauntlet of BS.
Memo to self: Next year go to PO in person, buy stamps there. Or order online by Halloween. And have no expectations.

I had a similar experience with online holiday stamp ordering. Finally I went to USPS and bought more stamps for Christmas cards. I’ll use this year’s online stamp order for next year’s cards
ETA they did finally arrive like a week late. So I think your stamps will eventually show up!

Hell, we ordered Christmas cards online on Black Friday. They shipped to Arizona the next day and haven’t moved. I guess everyone will get our cards by Valentines Day

I lost my debit card and had a new one shipped. It was lost in the mail for a month. Delivered 32 days later

They got Biden elected. They’re untouchable now.

Have a package that should have arrived monday from NC. It Just arrived in Atlanta so we will see if it comes tomorrow or not.

I have 2 packages expected, one from Tampa and one from Houston. Each have been sitting in Tampa and Houston facilities awaiting transit........since 12/5. No updates on USPS tracking site and sellers checked for me an they don’t know much more. WTF.
A friend has the same scenario with his package sitting in the Birmingham facility.
USPS is a joke.

Yeah I also have an ebay package en route that says "in transit/arriving late" from USPS so we'll see when that arrives. Supposed to be a Christmas present and shipped over a week ago, but I have no expectations. Ordered a backup gift just in case. I've never seen USPS this bad before.
Then again...UPS also seems to have lost another package of mine.
Maybe my luck is the problem

And yet somehow they manage to deliver vote by mail “on time”.

quote:Lol. Kansas City is the point from which my stamps were originally shipped. I live in the DFW area. My stamps allegedly out for delivery since last Thursday.
Currently waiting for a package that was delivered to Scruffy’s city distribution center last Wed, out for delivery the last 3 days, and somehow still hasn’t made it to Scruffy’s door.
Good luck with your package.

Friend,
I think the USPS does a good job for the cost. The solution of course is to increase our prices. First class postage is just 55 cents which is absurdly cheap. Royal Mail in the UK for instance just raised first class postage to 85p, which is about $1.13. Consider how much more distance the USPS covers I would expect a more reasonable rate for our first class postage to be $2.
The USPS is priced so everyone can use it, so it may suffer some quality issues. If you care so much about quality, spend the $10 UPS or Fed Ex will charge you for that Christmas card postage.
Yours,

Get this: Friend of mine went to a Nashville post office location last week to buy STAMPS. You know the things that pays for the job.
They didn't have any.

It's not. As of Friday I had 3 packages that were over 5 days late. One finally came.
The other two are 10 days or so late now.
One has been three hours away from me for 4 days now.
The other hasn't moved in over a week somewhere around NYC.
USPS tracking has a banner stating they are behind. They are clearly melting down.

Just out walking my dog and found package for my neighbor next to ditch 100 yds down the road. I’m not saying the PO driver threw it out. More likely a trashy neighbor did, but even then it would have been misdelivered. The address on the package was correct.

Ordered a scope from Midway, USA. Tracking notification said that it was in transit and scheduled for 11/19 delivery. The night before I get a notification that the package was sent to the wrong delivery facility - whatever that means. That was the last I heard of it.
Ended up getting a refund from Midway. Reordered and paid for UPS Ground. USPS is useless.
