I believe you are misinterpreting the promotion. It’s not that you can use an EBT card on Amazon prime. I think it’s just a discount on the Amazon Prime membership for people who have an EBT card. They still have to pay for products like the rest of us. Cell phone and internet companies have similar deals where you get discounted basic services if you have an EBT card.
That's how I read it as you can also qualify for the rate if you have a medicaid card.

Just another way for the trash to scam the system. And the cyclical cycle of generational scamming will continue.

Oh I know it.

Intelligent people understand that the strategy of any liberal/socialist party (regardless of country or timeframe), is to woo the lower class of the population of getting a piece of the rich's pie, when in actuality it just makes the lower classes be more dependent on the government (i.e. politicians) to survive.

It all goes back to lining the pockets of politicians.

And who do you think is subsidizing those discounts?

Hint: It's not the company.

Why does no one complain about that? Amazon is not unique in this.

Companies have been giving discounts to financially challenged people forever.

College student discount?

Senior citizens discount?

An EBT discount isn't any different.

Or the taxpayer so what are you bitching about?

You are free to take your business elsewhere, not that the price increases of Prime had anything to do with this anyway. This is a way to pull in more customers, it has nothing to do with existing customers

You raging against student discounts, senior discounts, military discounts and so on?

It’s a couple bucks a month and I’m guessing they still make a good bit off each member.

Do they eat? Wear clothes? Clean their house? Need furniture?

I can see a whole host of reasons access to cheap items at your door step could be helpful to someone with financial hardship. Time and transportation alone can be a big challenge. No car? For less than a single 1 direction Uber you can buy a ton of core items.

Roll in free entertainment etc... as money saving and it’s a great value

Call me a "flaming liberal" but I don't think this is a bad deal for those with EBT cards. A lot of these folks reside in areas referred to as food deserts since there are very few decent grocery stores within a reasonable walking distance. They are forced to use the "corner" store for their groceries where they end up having to buy overpriced food items.

You have an issue w poor people getting their groceries delivered.

Hmm. Poor people often don’t have transportation.

It’s sad you can’t buy pet food with ebt

My cousin has to feed his pits raw meat and you know that can’t be healthy over the long term

No, they were either paying for transportation everyone to go to the grocery store or walking to a high priced corner store and paying 150% for the same goods. Either way, with this Amazon deal it helps them keep more of their money making them less poor while raising Amazon's customer base. I'm failing to see a loser in this deal.

Well of course, other than the ignorant losers ITT that have no idea what's actually going on.

Since you've came back from banned camp you've been extra ignorant.

You really think Amazon grocery delivery is cheaper than a local grocery store?

And no, you're quite wrong. Most poors aren't paying someone to drive to the grocery. You sound like a young guy who's never experienced anything outside the city.

For one, most poors have a beat up car they use to get around.

For those that don't or are disabled, they ride with a friend or family, or have a commodity service deliver food to their doorstep.

Ah, I remember what it was like to be young and naive of the world.

It's no worse than comparable, if you have conflicting info I'm more than happy to look at it.

Public transportation isn't free.

Interesting considering I graduated high school with 50 kids in a small town.

You sound like a guy that's never been out of a small rural area where exponentially less people live as opposed to urban areas.

And even if any of that were true (it's not) it still has no real effect on anything I said. They aren't forced to buy Amazon prime which affects no one but themselves.

I'm not going to go pull resources for you to educate yourself on the supply chain and markup points between Amazon and a local grocery. This is basic knowledge for experienced adults.

The very last sentence I agree with, but as I've stated earlier in the thread this kind of poor subsidizing only hurts them over the long term.
