USAA insurance. Better than the others?

So my father in law was military and offered the wife to get on with USAA which would then migrate me over as well for our home and auto insurance. Are their rates the best? I hear great things does anyone here use them?
TIA

Easily. But not for you. Stop crowding the pool.

I've been with USAA for nearly 10 years and can only say good things about them as a bank and insurer. I've filed two auto claims (both over $2000 and never saw a rate increase) and one major homeowners claim for water damage from a leaking valve (over $15,000). Both were handled impeccably. I also used their homebuying service, but didn't use them as a lender (they apparently suck at that).
Would recommend. I pay $942 a year for homeowners (structure, contents, and secondary building with $1000 deductible) and $409 bi-annually for auto (with $200 deductible). The car is getting up there but it's still rated as a sports car and I have a reckless driving conviction from some years back. Rate never went up when I got it, but it hasn't fallen much either (of course that's largely dependent upon the area you're insuring it in).

Not always the cheapest, but they are the best when you have to make a claim. Quick, easy and in my experience they don't jack your rates up after.

thanks for all the speedy replies. I've been burned by all state and i've had state farm for 10 years and they are steadily going up. My house insurance is getting stupid. Increase every time i turn around.
Have a great day guys. I appreciate it

I've used them for auto insurance in the past but when I moved to another state the rates went up a ton. Switched to GEICO.
I still use them for banking and home insurance. They also have a program that makes buying a new car pretty hassle free.

Definitely
Use them for a lot of banking as well.
2 years ago I had about a $2K repair bill on my truck. Didn't cost me a penny out of pocket. Truck was 4 years old.

Do it. I use them for auto, homeowners, personal property, mortgages etc. Rates are always at least competitive, and the customer service is untouchable.

I've had them all my life (Dad was Army). No regrets. Could possibly get a cheaper rate somewhere else, but you get what you pay for.

I don't post seriously on here often, buy I can't say enough good things about USAA. They're awesome and anyway you can get them you should.
Even though you're a bit of a pussy for not serving yourself.

Depends on where you live. I am in Florida and GEICO beat their rates on auto insurance.

Was stoked about getting on with them. Got in a low impact, split fault, parking lot bump and rates went up compared to others (zero prior accidents/tickets/etc).
Now with Farm Bureau and no complaints.

Lol. I was told I would not be allowed in when I went to both navy (for nuke school) and army recruiter in 2000 with my chronic disease diagnosis. I've since had to have multiple surgeries leaving me with no colon and another surgery this Friday. Yea, I'm a pussy

I use them, I have auto and renters together cheaper than just auto with anyone else.
