BayouBlitz is right, at least in metro areas like London, Brussels, Melbourne, etc. The French are generally a bit more resistant, but I left a bar near the EU HQ (among many other instances) where a bunch of 20 year olds that worked in the EU discussed the optimal way to arrange their Uber to ... Not minimize cost... but reduce Carbon impact. For what was about a 3 mile trip.

Western Europe is sunk. Remember how the Netherlands was going to forcibly buy out farms, which produce more food per capita than nearly anyone else in the world? Farmers dumping manure at the capital?

Another bit of fun: on the side of a bus, in Leeds (essentially one step from the middle of nowhere in the UK), there was an ad which said something along the lines of "if you drink milk, you're stealing food from this calf." Yet there is a dude pumping his junk at 630AM on a weekday on the sidewalk.

Priorities.

Amazing that you paid attention to the “wokeness” while vacationing in Costa Rica. And you’re using one week as a measuring stick. Every country deals with their own bullshite.

Not really. It's obviously a little hyperbolic, but we're not the big force for good that you think we are.

It's not even hyperbolic. No country outside of some Islamic states are doing the "up is down" routine we are. And at least they have a multiple century faith to base their absurdity on.

We might not have the worst conduct, but I'm very interested in seeing who is evangelizing worse ideas than us right now.

20+ countries the last 3 years. Enough to know the “wokeness” in England and France is off the charts and Guatemala and Guyana citizens wish for the “problems” OP suggested.

all means, please point me something akin to nearly all of the institutions of one of the most developed countries in the world promoting (especially to children):

- The idea that your race is actually your most defining characteristic and nearly everything bad that can happen to you is attributable to your race. Moreover, if you're of the majority race, you're inherently problematic simply through your existence.

- The idea you gender is malleable and severe mental illness should be not only embraced but celebrated. We'll cheer your transition right up to your eventual suicide.

You're right. What the Nazis did to the Jews or what Stalin did has nothing on a little race or gender politics.

Because it was nonexistent and that was noticeable.

One week huh? I’ve been several times for 30 days at a time since 2013, and it’s never changed, which is refreshing. Every country does deal with their own BS, but I’m talking about the wokeness, or lack thereof, not advances in healthcare or the power grid, etc

Well, you don't seem to really understand what's happening. Yes, England is off the charts. It's part of the Anglo-American Empire. France has tried to fight it in many ways, but the center isn't holding.

This. USA is the greatest country in the world. We have our faults. But just try to get decent health care or education or even consistent electricity in some of these “non-woke” countries.

It looks like you’ve completely missed his point. He’s not saying those countries are better than the US.

This woke culture here is a product of how good we’ve had it, and a large segment of our populace and politicians who are pushing it.

Well, America used to be a grand promoter of highly positive things throughout the world, like free markets and democracy, and concepts of rugged individuality and work ethic.

Nowadays? We promote our culture. And our culture is abject depravity. We've become a poisonous entity, and the rest of the world would be well-advised to disconnect entirely from our corrosive influence, lest they become infected with our degeneracy.

I missed the part where you refuted him with all the countries you've been to recently and observed behavior, read their newspapers, etc.

We'll wait.

I understand what’s happening. Most of the greatest countries in the world are having social issues.

Which has happened for centuries.

Doesn’t mean a beach vacation makes that disappear. If OP feels the medical care in CR is top notch as he said, let’s see what he does if the unfortunate diagnosis of cancer visits his door.

I was stating a fact, it wasn’t just something I said. Sure, we can wind it down and go dx by dx, but we’d be here all night. But you’re missing my point. My thread doesn’t have anything to do with advances in medical care or other issues, nor am I saying it’s a better country than the US at this current point in time.

Fair point. Perhaps I did.

I took his post as OP went to a beach vacation and did not experience wokeness. Therefore his experience was an opportunity to shite upon USA.

Which is unfair.
