even though we would have to hire more people to do the jobs that are being outsourced now?

No more taxpayer $ going towards aiding foreign countries, our debt would be wiped clean with china...frick em if they impose an embargo why pay them back right?

I personally think we would be pretty self sufficient.

Let's say on that day you were the President. What would your course of action been?

Not sure, But I would like to think that I wouldn't just start blowing countries up and kill innocent people. That's kinda what the so-called leaders of the group that did this wanted anyway.... They were NOT concerened with loss of life.. They were trying to destruct our way of life..........

We would struggle...We may recover but it would be a severe blow to our economy.....

and it would be an even bigger blow to all the countries where we're one of their largest, if not the largest trading partners.

No Darth, what would be the biggest blow would be if the USA stopped selling (or giving) food away to these third world shite holes. America feeds the world. Look up the tonnages of food we grow and ship overseas.

To reply to OP, we should have killed every living creature in Iran\Iraq\Afghanistan. Kill every man, woman child, goat, camel, cockroach. Everything.

Then tell the remaining Muslim countries to stop all terrorism or they would be next.

I posted this in another thread but it fits here too. After the 9/11 attack this world (for the most part) was united behind us, people were united and above all America was united. You couldn't stop at a red light and not witness a handful of American flag stickers on multiple cars. Everybody had them. Everyone was united in their pride and in their country.......until the presidential race. Politics quickly divided this country for the sake of power. No matter democrat or republican...they both took part in dividing America back to where we are today. One thing I have come to realize, in the time of despair or crisis the true heart of the common man comes to light as we seem to help one another no matter color, status or wealth but politicians will never be more concerned with anything but gaining that office position.

And for the record, the first pitch that Bush threw for the Yankees games was fricking awesome. Watching the special on ESPN about it just now brought back memories.

Absolutely horrible and we got a stupid war, thousands of soldiers lost, trillions of dollars wasted, tons of foreign policy gaffes out of it and removed a dictator we had no business removing and actually made the mideast more unstable.

Once we invaded Iraq in 2003, we were never going to get out without the region becoming even worse before we invaded and terrorists running buck wild.

The only response we should've given is lot of spec ops units hunting after bin laden, not a full blown invasion.

one or two strikes. No. bomb them over and over. Bomb them until they're stark raving mad in their bunkers and howling like dogs. And then after that, bomb them some more.

Because that made North Vietnam quit.

Because conventional bombing prompted the Japs to quit.

Because bombing London instead of military targets made the British surrender.

Not that there was a nation state to do this to anyway.

And however much you act to cause fear and respect, you create contempt, hatred and a desire for revenge, so unless you kill every possible enemy it never ends.

So congratulations for offering a contender for dumbest fricking post of the year, Mr. Internet Bad arse.

t should have been in such an overwhelming manner that the entire world stood back in horror and awe at the level of destruction, death, and complete desolation the US leaves behind against any foe stupid enough to attack us. Our response should have made it clear that to attack the US is the same as committing national suicide.

So the exact way we ended WW2?

Hindsight it 20/20. We definitely overreacted but there were certain countries that kept us from doing what we wanted to do.

Iraq is a separate issue but it was beyond stupid for us to get involved there.

They really don't have a clue what they're talking about.

We are never going to get out of the mideast without it falling to shite and jihadist nutjobs running wild. We're going to be there a very very long time. That's the legacy of Bush's foreign policy and why he will never be considered a great or even good president. We might as well start installing some puppet dictators that we can control that will bring stability albeit being very violent and oppressive.

Surgical cuts with spec ops raids from Delta Force and the SEALs hunting after Bin Laden should've been the answer, nothing more than that.

In actuality, we gave them exactly what they wanted. Had we just sat back and done nothing, the world wouldn't have thought any less of us and the Middle East wouldn't be in as much chaos as it is right now.
