So the exact way we ended WW2?

To be fair, Japan is very secular and not bogged down in suicidal religious dogma like the Mideast. They were and still are much more open to logic and reason.

We also didn't occupy and invade japan either.

Surgical cuts with spec ops raids from Delta Force and the SEALs hunting after Bin Laden should've been the answer, nothing more than that.

No no no no no. When a group of nut jobs takes out 2 of your buildings the only logical thing to do is to execute a muslim genocide. Do you hate america or are you just a pussy?

Middle East wouldn't be in as much chaos as it is right now.

Removing Saddam is one of the biggest foreign policy blunders I can think of in the past 50 years. We had no business taking him out as he was a stabilizing force for Iraq and the Mideast and he controlled the jihadist and religious nutjobs and kept them down and quiet.

Rigid Stability with violent oppression is worlds better than violent and bloody anarchy embracing a violent theocracy.

The idea we could go into the most barbaric region on Earth and remove that stable dictator and then expect a massively brainwashed people to start forming a western and first world style of of government and peaceful society is the most delusional thing that we could ever consider.

We might as well start installing some puppet dictators that we can control that will bring stability albeit being very violent and oppressive.

Save for the first Gulf War, which was executed perfectly, Sadaam was essentially that guy. Whatever "humanitarian" cause we used to justify the second war (i.e. gassing the Kurds) was quickly nullified by the countless civilians who've been killed there over the years since 2003.

Scariest is the number of people in this country who blindly supported the invasion because #NeverForget and "patriotism." Democrats or Republicans. Hell, I think even Pat Buchanan was against it.

Buchanan has been called an isolationist for years. He's dead on with a lot of his foreign policy opinions.

At the time I also recall not a lot of distinguishing between Arabs Muslims and even Indians. It was retard time in some ways.

not really true. Their people were brainwashed into thinking Hirohito was a living god. There's a reason the Japanese people and military were so willing to sacrifice themselves. They believed they would go to heaven if they did. Now, however, they are much more logical and open to reason as you said.

I have friends who did multiple tours in Afghanistan and other areas because of 9/11. Not one of them regrets the decisions made by POTUS.

He was a major player in the growing oil bourse that threatened the dollar. In addition, he was also a major player in a growing wave of puppets in the region who sought banking independence.

What would you have done?

That was never considered. Replacing the "rogue" puppet with a new one. Nothing else.

We underreacted abroad and overreacted domestically.
