I think 99.9% of people who use the term "cultist" would be astonished on how many fit into your definition of "voter."

There are a good 10 or more on the poli board that would absolutely join antifa if Trump told them to.

I know several local big farmers that started their own co-op about a decade ago. They even bought an old grain elevated that had been closed for years.

Last year I heard a group in Montana (I think) decided to form their own coop.

Its not something that will overtake the market, but could help some farmers and ranchers avoid dealing with BigCorp all the time.

Co-ops are not a new idea. They have been around forever. They have not become more widespread because farmers and ranchers typically do not work well together for extended periods of time. When one does succeed it either gets large enough that it acts like BigCorp or it gets bought out by BigCorp.

Which is why we end up with crappy policy; we cannot voluntarily agree to anything in this country.

And agricultural economists say Argentine beef accounts for such a small slice of beef imports — only about 2% — that even doubling that wouldn’t change prices much.

Much of what is imported is lean beef trimmings that meatpackers mix with fattier beef produced in the United States to produce the varieties of ground beef that domestic consumers want, so any change in imports would affect primarily hamburger.

So change or no change?

It won't change much, well except for lowering ground beef prices, the stuff the customers are buying.

These are a bit contradictory.

I generally like his foreign policy as well but your post should be stickied.

Millenial men are in the middle of or coming out of their midlife crisis era. JD Vance is the leading indicator. We got you old baws.

Give incentives to raise more cattle as opposed to building more subdivisions.

I am going to be blunt because I don't have the time to concoct a soft pedal approach this afternoon but I have no beef with you.

You haven't come close to explaining the goals. No one has.

I accept your position that the process is nuanced and carefully constructed to accomplish targeted goals. I gave two specific markets and two specific sectors to deal with so you could illuminate those nuanced specific goals vis-a-vis those markets and sectors. You simply gave a generalized trust me bro argumant I keep hearing. If you can articulate a specific goal in ten words or fewer you have no specific goal.

I can accept the approach is a scatter-shot attempt to leverage "better" trade deals, but I have yet to see true articulatable and specific goals in specific areas. Forgive me if that leads me to the conclusion that the ideas aren't carefully crafted but instead are ham-fisted attempts, praying for positive effects one can point to afterward as a 4D chess move.

I gave you a concise assessment of China and an an honest status of where I am on the EU. Trust me bro is kind of an emotional reaction to someone being honest about where they are rather than pretending to know more than I actually do like the vast majority of this board.

I don't think my type of discussion jives with this board. There is no way to escape the egotistical insecurity of message board banter.

Eta
What is your honest take? Or are you in the camp of "I don't get it, therefore it must be wrong amd dumb" like the aforementioned egotistically insecure among us?

I don't have a problem importing from Argentina until US stick are replenished. It's too high now, and US beef only wants to keep high prices

I voted for him 3x. I’d vote for him again over any Democrat.

I’m intellectually honest enough to admit that he’s screwed some stuff up and is continuing to make big mistakes.

Biggest concerns:
- his relationship with Israel
- his pushing the boundaries with Russia via arming Ukraine
- his guarding of the Epstein files and calling it a liberal hoax of all things (which we all know goes back to his relationship with Israel - Epstein was Mossad)
- uncontrolled spending

Outside of the border/deportations and RFK Jr., he’s really not governing different than Biden or Obama.

He’s arguably making our international trade much worse. At best, the tariffs are a massive gamble.

Agreed here

Unknown, the wheels of justice and government grind slowly, so this is one I won't sweat until he leaves office with nothing happening.

uncontrolled spending

Agreed, though I do think a sincere effort to clean this up is ongoing. We'll see if they can even make a dent. This is a fedgov in total problem.
