Who you are at 18 matters hell of a lot more than most college letters are on your shirt at 21 (not all: Harvard is a life changer).
Graduated from multiple schools that represent multiple tiers on that list. In fact, just wrapped up a 2nd masters degree earlier this year deep into career (in part, because I love school!).
I believe this from experience.

LSU Law took another beating. Now down to #109.
The egg heads over there don’t care. As long as LSU Law keeps the mandatory civilian track and keeps failed attorneys employed as professors, national prestige and credibility doesn’t matter.
What those buffoons did to Jack Weiss was despicable.

Cool, now let's rank universities on how valuable their degrees are considering the cost of tuition.

UGA just started an engineering school in a discipline other than biology or agriculture. The school of education was, and maybe still is the largest school on campus. It may be going in the same direction as agriculture and journalism.
From the US&WNR site none of these are listed. Instead finance, biological/chemical sciences, accounting, computer science, insurance, marketing, international affairs and political science. Psychology is the only outlier.

Malcolm Gladwell had a good episode on Revisionist History about how terrible these rankings are.
This was my first thought when I opened the thread.

UF at 28 seems ridiculous. They must have found a way to game the methodology.
They threatened to send Florida Man after them.
That, or jorts per student was an important KPI.

I wanted my oldest to look at Rice but she didn’t want to go away - plus I wasn’t sure about their computer science program

In a few weeks we may take a tour of Texas schools for #2 - I may add Rice to the list - I have to look at the majors again
And depending on how stupid LSU becomes, #1 may transfer one day

Best School I got into was Penn State at #63. I'm glad I didn't waste my money on a private school like Denver or USD like I originally wanted to. Those schools aren't even prestigious it appears.
Crazy those are both tied for #93

LSU ranks very high for average salary after several years in the workforce. Pretty sure it's higher than A&Ms which is shocking considering the economic disparities between Louisiana and Texas.

No
But I told my daughter take the free ride, do well and get your masters at a better place

LSU was ranked much better in the 90's when I left - what have you'll been not doing down there since then

Last time I checked, one of the biggest factors in the rankings is the size of the university endowment, and UF has one of the largest. LSU doesn’t have nearly as much money.
