Story about it

actual link to the navy pdf

quote:

Using Male Privilege:
“He refuses to pick up milk on his way home because it’s ‘women’s work.’”
“When he came home yesterday, he was driving a brand new truck. I told him we needed something the whole family could fit in, but he didn’t
listen to me.”
“He doesn’t mind his friends being at the house at all hours of the night, but he says my Sunday brunch friends talk too much and are no longer
welcome.”

I'm still trying to locate the problem.

Social media has given an outlet to advance these ridiculous theories, concepts and ideologies.

30 years ago these people would be committed to an insane asylum and/or ignored.

Now social media has given their bullshite credibility because of groupthink.

In context:

She asked him to buy a vehicle the whole family could ride in, but he bought a truck for himself instead.

Something an a-hole would say.

Something an a-hole would do.

Okay, I agree with the guy on this one.

That's not male privilege....that's just being a shitty spouse. A major purchase like a vehicle should always be a joint decision.

It would be just as shitty if she brought home a minivan without him knowing what she was getting way ahead of time. In fact this implies that she wouldn't be in the wrong if he did come home to a new minivan in the drive way one day....and she definitely would be.

If my wife ever told me that I had male privilege, I'd probably divorce her. She'd never say something so incredibly stupid to me.

The blame for all of this falls squarely at the feet of those wearing stars. If these are real problems, they are to blame for allowing it to affect their units / branches. If it's political manipulation then it's their fault for allowing it to be presented to their units / branches. At that level, they should be resigning before allowing political manipulation of their branches.

Unless you're the duggars, the kids and wife will fit in the truck bed.

It didn't really say what type of truck he got, or how big their family is.

Are you looking for reasons to feel butthurt?

It clearly is not saying that buying a truck is a problem. Buying a truck when your family needs something else, and without even talking to your spouse, yeah, that's a problem.

I can write my name in the snow while peeing without soiling my jeans and crab walking.

That's male forking privilege right there.
