I hear you brother. My son is serving right now in one of the last hold-outs of true military service and they just had some sort of BS "climate" audit. Some chick came in and interviewed everyone in the company to see if they had their feelings hurt over anything. Now, mind you this is a tip of the tip of the spear organization (on time on target plus or minus 90 seconds - take the missions others refuse or are unable to perform) and they are now dealing with this shite.

To their credit though to a man they all said something along the lines of "if I had a problem I wouldn't tell you, I would walk over to whoever I had a problem with and kick his arse" - they said it a little cleaner but the message was "we take care of family business in the family".

The auditor was almost done when she went into the cage room. They have a poster calendar in there supplied by their gun vendor. It has "scantily clad" women on it. The auditor threw a rod.

I could not make it through basic nor college today. I would be tossed out of both as unfit.

When you have leadership focusing on anything other than training to defeat the next enemy, you have a military doomed to fail. This PC environment was installed by Obama when he purged the Officer corps worse than Clinton. It will now be followed up by Biden installing commissars to ensure the leadership walks in lock step with SJWs.

My service was under Bush 1 who never met a war he didn't like. The difference between then and now is that the armed forces were up for the challenge.

The military only learns painful lessons. So it will likely be some form of inability to succeed in a mission.

This is pretty much BS, we won the wars, we just failed at the occupation(which we shouldnt have been doing in the first place)

Some pretty heavy propaganda all throughout that blog.

While he has some good points I'm inclined to agree with, I don't think approaching it from the perception of "we haven't conquered anyone lately" is the right view. America hasn't been involved in anything that could reasonably be called defensive in a very long time.

And don’t patronize us with baloney about how this is just about rooting out all those secret “extremists” lurking in the ranks – that’s right up there with sending the new second louie down to the supply room to retrieve a box of grid squares. How about you stop trying to expel these mystery “extremists” and start firing the incompetents all around you?

We’ll slowly creep towards a military full of kids who just want the free college or kids who just had no other option. There seems to be fewer and fewer who do it because they want to purely serve.

Democrats ahve been trying to turn the military into a welfare program since Clinton's Meals On Wheels™ missions.

The only hope left is TEXIT

Clear to me this Republic is fractured. Disconnect and salvage what we can in another union. Then kick all the lousy radical rats out.

You do realize they'll never stop until they've either imprisoned all their political opponents and/or killed them off outright?

I wish it weren't so.

He doesn't elaborate on what was meant by that, but I would say it is difficult to win a war that lacks a defined objective. If our objective in Iraq was to depose Saddam, then fine, mission accomplished. However if our objective was to attempt to hand a bunch of literal cavemen a democracy on a silver platter, something they have virtually no concept of, and expect them to simply take the ball and run with it, abandoning thousands of years of theocracy and savagery, well I would say we failed miserably. When we stop fighting for survival and start nation building we lose every time.

Is anyone hearing anything on how they're training current Soldiers and Marines regarding future action inside the US/against US citizens/against 'insurgency' at home?

I have a couple anecdotal stories I've heard but they sound far fetched.

That said, I could completely see the military continuing to decay from it's status and being turned into something more for control here at home. Of course, they'd still be all about droning and bombing the shite out of anyone for the sake of the military industrial complex.

I hope to God that I am wrong, but I fear that the leftist hegemony running our government will use the draft in the next ten years, as recruiting dries up.

There has been a Republican president 12 of the last 20 years. How did it get this way?

The military has been a poor man’s game for as long as we’ve been alive.

Not to take anything away from GW's ability to frick things up, but those eight Obama years absolutely wrecked the military and set the stage for what we see now. Trump did little to reverse it unfortunately.

Law enforcement and the US Military are unfortunately no longer viable professions. Those who would have served won’t go away, they will just evolve into something else. The left will call them criminals. Others will call them patriots.
