It's amazing to me how many "Christians" don't understand what Jesus was trying to teach. He wasn't trying to overthrow Judaism, he was trying to reform a corrupted System.
And he failed. Megachurches and Televangelist prove that. They are the new Pharisees that Jesus abhorred. But so many Protestant sects consist of this type of Religious System where the Religious Leaders use their position and influence to control their followers and enrich themselves. And they have brainwashed people into not only willingly enriching them, but also thinking that it's what Christ wants them to do.
(The Vatican isn't any better, but they'll at least give back to the community. They build and run schools and set up permanent missions in the worst areas of the world, not show up for 2 weeks, paint a building and leave as a vacation disguised as "Missionary" Work. I respect Catholic Nuns and Monks.)
ETA: I must be blowing some posters' minds with my take in this thread.
