Good advice for anyone IMO

We have both already done this. Thanks for the reminder. I already ate pretty “clean”, no sweets, lean meats, eggs, almost no processed/boxed foods, etc, but I’m cleaning it up even more. Fish, organic chicken, blueberries….I drink only filtered lemon water and black coffee.

UAB’s cancer center is excellent. I know everyone is saying to cut down on sugar, but discuss it with your onco and nutritionist. During chemo, they typically want you to eat what you can tolerate. My husband’s chemo regimen included steroids, so he actually gained weight. He craved very specific foods, and it changed all the time.

In the midst of this-I promise you-you’ll meet some of the most amazing people God has shared with us. Praying for y’all.

Thanks for that. I’ve been very impressed with the team at UAB. They really are on top of their stuff. Their credentials and experience are top notch, but also just patient, nice and caring. They return my calls promptly. I have the nurses direct numbers. I get a call almost every day and they answer every question I have. I’m never cut off.

As for food, my surgeon said exactly that. Yes, eat clean and “healthy” but also just eat what agrees with me. He doesn’t want me skeletal before surgery.

Appreciate it, Sticks.

Thanks for the update, bud. I had the c at 30. There's no way around what you gotta do. You gotta fight like hell and risk it all to stay alive. I went hard to the paint and made it out. Good luck.

I'm sending sincere prayers yall's way. I know this cancer monster, too. Mama BFIV has multiple myeloma and has been fighting it for 4 years now. No cure as of yet. The chemo is helping but the side effects are awful. If I had Soros or Musk money, I'd pour it into cancer research and a cure.

I'm in radiation oncology at UAB if you ever need help or guidance with the process. I'm bragging, but you'll get great care there and we really look after our patient's well-being. I wish you and your daughter the very best outcomes

Chris Beat Cancer

I have prayed for you and your daughter multiple times and will continue to do so. Cancer runs in my family on both sides so, I have been following book. My mom beat cancer in 2013. It can be done.

A suggested reading.. A friend suggested it to me. Her sister had brain tumor, changed her eating habits per book and tumor is gone. Maybe it was something else, but Im hoping it was her new eating habits.

Brother, keep up the good fight. It won't win and you'll be playing Santa Claus at your grandchild's first Christmas before you know it!

Hey thanks Bamajedi. Very cool you work there. I know it’s a big department and not likely, but we might run into each other. I’m with Dr. J. Bart Rose III (surgeon) and Dr Akce (oncologist). They’re in the pancreatic and hepatobiliary cancer department of the O’Neal Center. I like that they are academics, researchers and professors as well as physicians.

Thanks BFIV. I’m learning cancer sufferers and survivors is a big family. Prayers for your wife. Glad she’s still here and fighting and hoping a cure is possible.

"Have no anxiety about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known to God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus".

~Phil 4: 6-7
