Re-reading my post, it sounds absurd to talk about a pack of stray dogs running through a normal residential neighborhood, and would be crazy to see that in the same neighborhood today. But this was Southwest Houston in the 80's, when a lot of people were moving out and some of the old "young professionals" apartment complexes were turning into crack dens. I think it was just one pack that I saw periodically; one poor guy only had 3 feet so I always recognized him.
