See, it's shite like this that reminds me why I hated 'frat stars' and the whole greek culture when I was in college. Ya'll put way to much of your and others identity by which branch of the Greek system a person is in.

I wonder what the Naquin kid did differently to draw the homicide charge?

I would guess he was the last one to be 'encouraging' the drinking Gruver was doing or the one tasked with watching after him when he passed out.

At LSU, there are fraternities that are called "Geek Houses" by the more "respected" ones . These are just guys with far less social game. For some reason these "geeks" drive people who imagine themselves to be handsome and charming absolutely insane with insecurity. This is some kind of psychological trait of insecure males of that age-the need to find the perceived "weaker" person and torment them. I don't get it, and I never got it.

There is a flip side to this. And this is the resentful outcast who has a psychological requirement to torment the perceived "stronger" person. It's just as bad. It's all based on refusing to see a person for who they actually are, instead of how they appear. Stupid human stuff. It's why I have refused o be a joiner after my fratstar days at LSU. I don't want a small exclusive world. I want a large inclusive world.

I look at this kids face as a parent with a freshman at LSU and I seriously want to cry.

I never really gave a shite. I had/have plenty of close friends in "lesser" frats or whatever people want to call them. But Phi Delt has/had its own reputation like any other frat. I don't doubt there were/are some genuinely cool guys mixed in. Try to not be so sensitive.

If I were to make bets on the outcome, I'd place money on none of them seeing jail time. Naquin will plead down to a non-felony charge and the rest will be on probation for 6 months, if convicted. However, as we saw at Penn State, just getting a conviction is tough.
