the #3 guy(BREC commissioner?) was not a buckshot. Small caliber hand gun was what I was told from friends of the family.

Cant trace barrel markings since it isn't rifled like pistols and rifles and you don't have to be a very good shot at a distance to kill your target with buck shot.

When Bass was killed in July he was found near his home. The SO reported that the killer(s) would have had to come up on his property. Going to be interesting to see what type of weapon was used in today murder.

I would put this more in the Mass Murderer/Political Assassination camp than Serial Killer.
Technically not much different. But there are some subtle differences. A mass murderer has more of a political objective. Trying to make an outward statement.
Typically serial killers are trying to resolve some sort of internal tormented agenda. Live out a fantasy or quell some sort of demon.
A serial killer will almost always hunt within his ethnic group. He's lashing out at abuse by a father, mother, uncle, jilted love, etc. Replaying some episode from childhood or adolescence.
A mass murderer will often cross ethnic lines to make a point.

You still have to get relatively close with a shotgun even buckshot.

I've seen flight control buckshot do some serious damage at 50 yards. With 00 buckshot, you have 9 32 caliber pellets flying all at once. Very effective.

my father is at the hospital. the wife said the car came up, shot him twice from less than 10ft. she went running, the person fired at the house. yes they have 2 small children.
