Expensive to get there. Super long lines. The snow sucks. I'd rather ski in Colorado.

Needs 3 more feet. Boulder fields don't cover up easily.

Specifically Snowmass and Aspen.

But Jackson Hole is nice. I just prefer Colorado skiing.

Best snow I have ever snowboarded in, and I have been on the slopes for over 20 years. Everybody in the town is super friendly and seemingly work two jobs, very normal and down-to-earth people. If you can, head up to the Amangani Resort for drinks and dinner, that resort is fricking incredible. Bin 22 is a cool spot for tapas and wine. The snake River Grill serves an incredible octopus appetizer and elk medallions (entree) that will both will change your life.

Useless fact: my stepmother's dad constructed the antler arches right there in the main Townsquare.

Thanks for the helpful reply, GumbeauxGuy.

I will probably head up there sometime next spring.
Any other suggestions?

I did some backpacking there ... in August. Really pretty but might not be what you're looking for.

Already over 3 ft of snow in the Tetons.

Not true. Climate change will not allow it. You will be sued as a climate denier. You have been assess 3 privilege demerit points.

Obviously I'm kidding, live in JH getting 130-150 ski days depending on the year. Cheapest place to stay in the village is the hostel. If it's a boys trip and you don't care where you are passing out I would advise that place for the price. If you have OT money You shouldn't have to ask. Only a few bars at the ski hill but there are buses that run until about 11ish to town, 3 bucks both ways. If you miss the bus and take a cab home it's a 50 dollar ride back. Oh and there are girls, most tourist don't see them here because they don't bang poor OTers that don't live here....

Hitting up targhee isn't a bad option as well for a trip in to Idaho.

I've noticed. Hopefully it helps keep the trash out.

I am considering a couple of days over at Targhee too...will just depend on the weather.
Thanks for the info.

Are there any events that I should try to make or any weekends that I should try to avoid?

I haven't checked the schedule of events this year. They normally just send out emails of fun things going on around the mountain. I would try to avoid the crowds xmas/New Years. Jan/feb is a time I would aim for but ya never know with so El Niño. As for travel, flying into SLC and renting a car is an option 4-5 drive in good weather. They also run a shuttle for 70 bucks one way from SLC to JH which I wouldn't advise but people use it. End of the season is fun because of spring breakers from the west coast and free concerts.
