The cops don't wait for the tow trucks to show up, so if the driver gets to the care before the tow truck does they avoid having the car towed

This is one reason why it's such an advantage to have a car that records everything and you can immediately have video of it. Hell, it could have been cued up and ready to show her before she even knocked on the window.

Turning into my driveway and a car hits me from behind. Cop gets there, and the dude said we were sitting parked across the street, then darted across the street towards my driveway right as he was coming, a completely unbelievable story.
Not sure I buy the cop as he definitely was sympathizing with me but he said it was my word against his and nothing he could do so he couldn't put anyone at fault. And this obviously meant I'd have to pay my own $500 deductible.
I haven't been in a fight in my entire adult life since finishing college, probably never even came close. I legit made a run at the guy with the cop right there, and the dude jumped in his truck, and the cop had to pull me away.
I hung out outside in the yard with my dogs more than I ever did the next couple of weeks hoping and praying to see that truck driving by again, but I never did.
