Update: Our baby showed up yesterday for Lundi Gras and goes home tomorrow for Valentine’s Day. Beautiful baby girl, 7lbs 15ozs and 21 inches. Already rocked her LSU swaddle today, the girl was born tiger!!

Our baby is due this week and my wife (I’ve posted pics before, go find them) started to dilate and contract, so we are thinking we will have the baby in the next few days.

This is our first, a baby girl, any last minute advice for a new Dad? On a side note, we are both LSU grads so in theory, our baby girl will also be a future tiger!

Enjoy the ride. I know it's cliche, but it really does fly by.

Have as much sex as you can the next few days.

Enjoy having a baby lay on you.

Before long that baby will be a gremlin.

Share the overnight feedings/changings. Your wife will appreciate it.

Routine, routine, routine. And, don’t get in the habit of holding her during naps too often. We made that mistake and it’s tough to break them of wanting to be held.

Not a parent but I have worked as a mother/baby nurse in the past.

Advice for right when the baby is being born and right after:
1) Make sure that YOU eat something during labor. Too many dads forget to eat something and then they feel light headed during the delivery. You want the nurse's attention on mom and baby...not worrying if you will faint. Bring some protein bars or something you can quickly eat.

2) I don't know if the hospital you will have the baby allows this anymore (as I know many have moved to baby always being in the room with mom). However...if they have an option to send the baby to the nursery at night...take advantage of it so mom (and you) can get some sleep. You won't have that nursery option at home.

Congrats and I hope everything goes well at the delivery and that mom and baby are ok

Nothing will change your life more than kids. I don't know what I'd do without mine. One important thing is to still make time for you and your wife to be alone. When the kids get old enough send them to the grandparents for a night and take your wife out.

Baby breeza, don’t buy anything new. There’s sooooooo many people trying to get rid of baby things.

Girls turn crazy waaaaay earlier than you would think.

No better nap than a Sunday afternoon with a baby sleeping on your chest.

After watching that thing open up like a water moccasin eating a goose egg, he may not eat for a week.
