I gotta side with OG Lady A on this one. Irrespective of identity politics, there’s no reason for a band of this stature not to do little research before a name change. And changing Antebellum to A only ensures that you think of racism in relation to what was a relatively innocent word now. Dumbasses.

No one probably gave a shite that their name was Antebellum and this is a knee jerk reaction, just like NASCAR, to change something that didn’t need to be changed. NASCAR didn’t realize that, by banning the confederate flag, they would be doing more damage to their fan base than had they just went about business as usual.
