bullshite. It's the ONLY things that matter. The adult, government agents should be held to a radically higher standard than a 12 year old.

quote:

Don't wave a gun around.

Kids wave toy guns around all the time. But in fact, the gun was not waved in the presence of the cops. Get your facts straight before slobbing all over the cops.

Fortunately it isn't up to him, or you. If the lawyers have their way it will be decided in court, as it should be.

It's a message board dude. We talk about things that happen in the world.

Anyway, not everything should be decided in court, but that concept is likely lost on you.

Based on that data, Mr. Moskos reported that roughly 49 percent of those killed by officers from May 2013 to April 2015 were white, while 30 percent were black. He also found that 19 percent were Hispanic and 2 percent were Asian and other races.

70% of the American population accounted for 49% of the people killed by police officers

and

13% of the American population accounts for 30%

I think your points would come off as more legitimate if you'd stop pretending every person involved in these shootings is "a little kid." Martin, Brown, now this kid. All could be confused for older than they were, all took actions inconsistent with childlike behavior (in the eyes of the unaware).

It's a very sad story.

You said:

How many unarmed white people are getting killed on a regular basis?

And I responded. More white people get killed than blacks by cops. Now if you want to get into proportions, that's a whole different ballgame.

Name anytime I've ever done that...except for this case when a literal 12 year old was involved.

Playing with a toy gun is not "inconsistent" with childlike behavior. The idiot who phone in to 911 even told the operator it might just be a toy.

Made even more sad by the kneejerk blame-the-victim, praise-the-cops response of some of the usual cretins on here (not you.)

Where again did you address the unarmed?

Kid, who had been waving the gun at citizens in the park, immediately walked right at the police cruiser. He then goes directly to his wait pulling up his shirt. I am almost certain he was only trying to show them that he only had a bb gun knowing he was in trouble. Not a good cop + terrible mistake of a kid equals shots fired. Cop should never be a cop again, but he didn't murder that kid. He killed him thinking his life was in danger and it's easy to understand why he did. Another important fact to remember is that he didn't drive up on the kid, his partner did. He was put 15 feet from a perp said to be in possession of a gun. Perp walks towards car and is lifting his shirt reaching at his waist. Again, terrible situation where basically everything went wrong.

So police should be able to kill anyone they think is a threat without having to be worried about being "judged by 12"?

That sentiment is exactly why the family is avoiding the DA.

You tried to use this as a red herring to undermine the fact that blacks are killed at a drastically higher proportion than whites.

I don't believe that has ever been corroborated.

Not really.

Partner is an idiot also.

Including the cops who shot him waiting 240 seconds before attempting first aid. Perhaps that is the negligent homicide angle they should hit them with.

Pulled a gun on police.

This wasn't an execution. This was a reaction to a very stupid action by someone who should have had common sense enough to know better that to pull a gun out on police. Especially after worrying neighbors enough to have them call the police on you.

So you admit it's a toy and that he was not armed?

So even the person concerned with a potential weapon in the park is an idiot? Good grief, you're a hack.

Naturally when I said "not everything should be decided in court" I really mean "police should be able to kill anyone."

Please. 911 busybodies are the worst and the cops often make no attempt to corroborate their stories before blazing in like they did in this example. What was "very stupid" was roaring in within 10 feet of the kid.

Especially the same neighbors that thought the gun was fake?

quote:

A Cleveland officer was less than 10 feet away when he fatally shot a 12-year-old boy carrying a pellet gun near a playground, and video of the shooting is clear about what happened, police said Monday.

The boy was confronted Saturday by officers responding to a 911 call about a male who appeared to be pulling a gun in and out of his pants.

The 911 caller said the gun was "probably fake," then added, "I don't know if it's real or not." Deputy Chief Edward Tomba said Monday that he didn't know whether a dispatcher shared that information with responding officers
