Thanks. I hadn’t seen that piece of info.

I have to backtrack a bit. The father of one of the victims speculated that the door was left unlocked. I read the article too fast.

Ted Bundy attacked four sorority girls at Florida St over an estimated 15 minute period and didn't wake up the other ~30 girls in the house. He beat one girl with a piece of firewood and strangled her with a pair of pantyhose.
The guy was a nut, but his murders weren't particularly well planned. Some he planned, but the Chi O murders seemed to be spontaneous.

Did police really let some nearby trash dumpsters get picked up Tuesday before searching them?

So 4 people know the truth? And they found not one, but two guys willing to viciously murder 4 other college kids because of late rent or drama? I mean this isn’t hitman shite. This is vicious. Killing someone with a bladed weapon is messy and not always slow or simple or quiet. And what were they giving in return for these brutal murders? A blowjob and some titty pics?
I just said it was my theory. You don’t have to agree. It’s a better one than the bloodthirsty psycho theory, because of that was true there would’ve been six murders.

I keep forgetting that Ethan Chapin was a triplet, and his brother & sister also went to Idaho.

Chapin - one of four University of Idaho students stabbed to death last weekend, the police still searching for a killer - was a triplet. His brother and sister also attend the scenic state school tucked away in the rolling hills of north-central Idaho.
"He was our our daughter Maizie's date, and his brother was Maizie's roommates date," Chapin´s mother, Stacy Chapin, said in an interview Wednesday. The group was attending a dance hosted by Maizie's sorority. "They all spent their last day together, all dressed up, and had a great time. We´re all thankful that they spent that time together."
Ethan Chapin captured photos of the event on his phone, but the family has yet to see them. The device is being held by law enforcement as potential evidence in the homicide investigation.

I’d say that one is more credible than what you posited, just by logic. Not trying to piss in your cheerios.

There’s the possibility that one of the victims was the intended target and the others were killed simply to hide the true motive of the crime. It seems more plausible than someone deciding to randomly murder 4 people or being pissed off about rent or an ex.

I think it is either a disgruntled ex, someone that approached them and felt slighted by the turn-down, or a turned down neighbor. It will almost surely be someone with some degree of prior contact.

The Moscow Police Department has assigned four detectives, 24 patrol officers, and five support staff to the case. The FBI has 22 investigators in Moscow, 20 agents in other areas of the United States and two Behavioral Analysis Unit agents. The Idaho State Police has deployed 20 investigators, 15 state troopers, a public information officer and a Forensic Services team to the scene, as well as 15 uniformed troopers to assist with other patrols.
Investigators on Friday were seen collecting fingerprints and taking photos from windows on the outside of the house where the victims were killed.
Now that is a shitload of resources to be involved. They’ve conducted 38 interviews combined, let the trash get picked up under their nose, just now taking fingerprints on windows…..and still no suspects. Holy shite

Yeah I think they don’t have a clue who it is
Random killer

Just find it hard to believe that a random killer would risk slaying multiple people in a house with a knife. A knife is personal. Slaying 4 random college kids at 3-4am just doesn’t make sense.
Granted, I don’t know how anyone could murder people period, so I guess it could be a random psycho

The vast majority of serial killers use up close and personal tactics. It’s obvious now if this person was targeting 1 of the roommates they could have done it and easily escaped without harming anybody else. Crime of passion is very targeted. Hard to believe someone like that would kill 3 additional people just to cover their tracks. It’s also not very likely someone hated all 4 of these people enough to kill them.

Not saying this is what happened, but if one of the girls broke up with an ex boyfriend and he felt like it was because her friends and roommates pressured her to do it….would be a reason
Also - Kaylee’s sister, Alivea, claims the girls called Jack (Kaylee’s ex-boyfriend of 6 years) for 30 mins leading up to the time in which the coroner says the murders could’ve happened (coroner believes it was between 3-4am)
"At 2:26 a.m., Kaylee starts to call Jack," Alivea Goncalvez told "Inside Edition," which described Jack as a young man. "Kaylee calls Jack six times between 2:26 a.m. and 2:44 a.m. From 2:44 to 2:52 Maddie calls Jack three times, then Kaylee makes a final call to him at 2:52 a.m.“
ETA: Jack has been questioned and cleared by police according to Alivea on Instagram

Her ex was Jake Schriger, not Jack. It could be a typo though cause we know how accurate journalists are these days.

I mean, her sister, Alivea, posted on Kaylees Instagram that it was Jack and they dated for 6 years. Alivea’s post was in retaliation to some a-hole posted a comment under the picture “musta been this guy”

This is how a wild goose-chase can get started. A seemingly relevant event that occurred within an hour of the murders which turns out to be innocent in the end. (Maybe she just wanted a booty call, hence the relatively high volume of calls she made. But he just wasn't up for it.)
That being said, it would be interesting to know what they talked about. Did she mention any creepy guys who had followed them? Did she mention any feudin' with the roommates upstairs?

One of the other deceased roommates called him 3 times as well.
And you’re right, could be absolutely a coincidence they were both reaching out to an ex-boyfriend minutes before they died. There does always seem to be something random like this in every big case. Think there were a few in the Gabby-Brian Laundrie ordeal too

Just Google Jake Schriger. There are four articles about him and he has a Facebook page. Her BF was Jake, not Jack.
