Kaileigh Schmidt, who was jailed after she alleged her parents were racist and posted their personal information on Facebook leading to death threats, has been released from jail, according to Carlos Moore, one of her attorneys.

A judge in the Jones County Justice Court released Schmidt Thursday and dropped all charges, Moore said. He said he was happy about the outcome.

"She spent a night in jail for simply exercising her first amendment right on Facebook," Moore told the Clarion Ledger.
