She is 21?

Then yep. She is probably a freak too. Daddy issues always result in their frustrations from a sad life being taken out on random cock.

I don't see a violation of 1st amendment, but how is this a Mississippi crime?

She likely posted from her phone. Her post ended up on a Facebook server-- is that server in Mississippi?

Is it a Mississippi crime because she was sitting in Mississippi when he keyed the message? Do they know that?

Is it because the signal went through a cel tower in Mississippi?

Is it because she lives in Mississippi?

Or because her parents live in Mississippi?

or because the post is viewable in Mississippi?

I know I sound stupid, but I'm not trying to be a wise guy here--maybe one of the O-T legal eagles can explain why this is a Mississippi crime.

ETA-- don't get me wrong-- I can't stand doxing, and I am glad she was charged with SOMETHING. Maybe one of you downvoting count could explain the fine points of law to me if you actually know them.

You're 21 and your parents still punish you by taking away your car?

1. It feels like there's much more to the story (smart money is on drugs).

2. It's good that she's showing off her extreme craziness in such a global fashion so any guy who might have met her socially and been interested can see exactly how big of a bullet he just dodged.

How can they prove that it isn't true and if she reports that her permanent address to a university or pays taxes at that address then how is it against the law.? I'd sue the police for taking her to jail and causing me talk distress.

They list the charge in the article and you can google the applicable law. The nuance you seem to be missing is the violence aspect.

I knew I was being lazy.

Here is the part I was wondering about. My question was based on "originated" vs "transmitted". Glad I am not a lawyer:

"Any person violating this section may be prosecuted in the county where the telephone call, conversation or language originates in case such call, conversation or language originates in the State of Mississippi. In case the call, conversation or language originates outside of the State of Mississippi then such person shall be prosecuted in the county to which it is transmitted. "

I assume she posted from her phone like anyone under 30 would do. I guess the state could subpoena cell phone location tracking, and compare to the time of the post to "confirm" she was in Mississippi when she transmitted the post. I don't get why these questions get some of you folks worked up.

It says she's 21. Probably looks younger than she is because she's never been hit with life before. Looks like parents decided it's not too late to teach this one a lesson. Amazing what threatening daddy's credit line can do.
