Off topic but I don't get the fondness for hiking, but I grew up in the countryside and got plenty of walking around in woods when I was young. I also don't camp anymore. Screw going out, swatting bugs, dealing with heat or cold, sleeping on the ground, when I could be home in a nice comfortable bed, with air conditioning.
Humans aren’t designed to live in cities. And sit behind a desk typing all day. It makes us unhappy.
Hiking and camping are popular because it puts us closer to our natural condition. What were actually designed to do. It makes most people happy.

You are not doing it the correct way.

You put the wrong information in bold.
Did he make up the information that they left without Brian?

That was never the question. The parents even said they last saw him on 9/14, when he "went to the reserve".
For those that think he is dead, was he in the reserve? Did the gators eat em?

That and there are few better things in life than hiking to the middle of the woods and eating a bunch of acid.

There are a few states who classified them as such for certain people(felons, etc...)

So your son comes home w/o the girlfriend he went on the trip with that just so happened to be living with you and you go camping? Sure...not suspicious at all lol
The Laundrie parents are ALL IN on protecting Brian at all cost, thats why I think he's still alive. They bought enough time for him to get a good head start on authorities who would eventually come looking for him.
I think he's still in Florida. They eventually will catch him. He will slip up some how

I'm not doing it at all. I did plenty when I was young.

Right. So why aren't the parents being leaned on very heavily. Seems like they could be arrested for obstruction of justice or something.

Fact. As we sell out to comfort and security, we become more depressed and anxious. We are too risk averse, and not seeking meaning.

For what, though? He's only been wanted a couple days officially. As long as everyone stays quiet there isn't much they can do to them right now.

Whomever mentioned that 3 went into the reserve, but only 2 came out...do the park rangers count you on your way out or something?
They never did that (to my knowledge) in Big Bend.

Agreed. I don't like it at all. I like being outdoors, but walking a trail just isn't for me. Especially in the hot arse south.

It was Dog. He said he had a source that told him that. He did not give details of his source to the general public. When he said it, the Sheriff's helicopter went out and searched Ft. Desoto, almost immediately, with the infrared.

Thanks Hangit, but how do park rangers account for the # of people in the park? Do they literally hand count you? What happens when a van full of people come into the park - do they get everyone out and count them one by one?
In the natural preserves I've been to, you just pay per head and it seemed like an honor system thing.

My guess would be he would want closure for his parents/sister/family. He would want them to know he was dead and leave them a body to bury/cremate.

I don't think they keep track of who goes out.
That's why I asked the question earlier if Dog was making stuff up.
Sure, he has "sources" or got a "tip", but no one knows what his basis was for that information.
