Disagree, you can hear very well out there for long distances and the water would actually amplify the screams through the area.
Just too many people around that time of year for it to have been much of a struggle.

Just curious, since there is a lull in the action, what does it cost to defend yourself for murder charges?
$50k, $100k?

Has to generally be at least that much. But it would definitely depend on how complicated the case was and how many expert witnesses you would have to pay. Those guys end up being more than the lawyer.

BL could have used his secret mind control powers and forced her to kill herself like he did when he made her lie to the cops. That's how he got back to Florida so fast too. Not only does he have mind control powers but he has telepathic energy and he cut out over half the drive through the less scenic parts of the country while he enjoyed driving through the mountains without her nagging and trying to grab the wheel and run them off the road.

The key is to not get caught.
That’s why you bury the body really deep. Or pick a victim that doesn’t matter- like a whore or druggie.

As far as we know the body never crossed state lines.
Crime most likely happened on federal lands - National forest on the edge of a national park.

Which is why, murder aside, I think false accusations that result in actual charges and a trial should result in the accuser(s) going to prison for the sentence the falsely accused would have gotten.
False accusations like rape or child sex stuff can not just destroy a person's reputation, but can drain them financially leaving them bankrupt and with a standing in their community that cannot be easily repaired.

I feel like he was a prick and was abusive to her, as she probably was to him as well..but,, i don't blame her.. And he wasn't as ready as he thought he was to go out on a multimonth trip. Especially in a confined area with a person he really doesn't seem to get along with.
Then it all came to a head, he snapped and it all went to shite. He seems to have acted like that guy in the film "Hereditary" after the girl was killed. Didn't put any effort in hiding much and just drove home.
..cause if he had been planning this murder, and this was his plan..he is a fricking moron. Hell, even with the documented abuse with the cops..had he not sent that text, he may have gotten away with self defense.

I guess I'm just speculating for a "normal" murder defense, if there is such.
One like this, the Laundries would have to find some narcissistic lawyer to do it pro Bono, for it would cost Lord knows how much for this high profile case.

The only problem with that is you then have to PROVE the accusation was false. The original defendant being found not guilty does not prove the accusation wasn't true. I'm pretty sure we have laws about false accusations already. And there are civil suits as well.

Likely over three weeks in the wilderness? I'm not positive but there couldn't have been much left. But then again if she were buried it might. But either way I still wonder what they could have found to make them rule homicide so quickly.
That part of the country could actually help reserve a body (outside of animal predation and insect damage).
Higher altitude, with fairly low humidity. I checked the weather reports from the closest weather station (Moran, WY) yesterday, and for the 3 week period most of the highs were mid 60s/high 70s and lows were in the upper 20s through low 40s. Very little precipitation.

This has likely been posted but... They were BOTH just too emotionally immature to be doing what they were doing. 22 and 23 years old but acting much younger. Things their friends said, things that happened etc. shows this wasn't going to work out. Lead to murder? No, that shows something much darker. They were just too 'young'. Being in those circumstances, having little money, no real plans... That's tough on anyone, much less 'kids'... Which is what they truly are.

Didn't they used to have a body farm at UTk that they used to study this and learn about decomposition? Anyone know if they still do that there?
