That isn't the van she's driving in the video. It's some other car from I guess a previous trip.

Yes, that’s why I asked. She clearly drives - and drives the van from the police incident - I remember her saying she ‘usually’ doesn’t drive the van, but not sure where the ‘she doesn’t drive the van cones from

Is there a link for this? I don’t remember if she says this or he does.

Who drives it away from the incident with the cops in Moab.

I hate myself for knowing this, but she said in her youtube video or somewhere else that they "upgraded" and no longer needed their tiny Nissan Sentra or something car. The video is likely their old car.

Some of her social media includes a trip to I believe San Fran in a previous video.

Yall hate white people so much that you are shitting on someone because she's dead and people care.

If your premise is correct, then why do so many people care about the deaths of ugly-arse black dudes?

I'm more interested in how the legal ownership situation changes if they are both living in the van. At what point does it become a shared domicile? And how would his rights regarding it change?

How can you argue its a home and drive it to a "home"? I can understand the idea of two houses. But can you really claim an RV (barely the case here) in your driveway is also your "home"?

If its something you are currently sleeping in, sure. But if you drive it somewhere and sleep elsewhere?

I'd have to assume you lose some rights?

It's also her driveway and her home. People are forgetting that it was her home also.

He can simply say he was returning the van to her legal residence. He in fact did that, and it can't be disputed.

I'm certainly not defending the guy nor making excuses for him. But if the question is whether or not he could be convicted in a court of law of car theft, the answer is obviously not.

edit: Don't just do a driveby downvote. Explain what in my statement is factually incorrect, based on provable evidence in court.

That's what they do when they can't do this:

He obviously was sleeping in it when he returned it to FL. But even if some variation of "squatter's rights" allows him access to the van where does he get authorization to move it?

You know that for a fact? Her parents lived in Florida also right? Or one of them? So before their van life jersey they both lived together at his parents home?

They were engaged and she had moved into the Laundrie house.

Yes. For maybe two years.

Do ya’ll really think she or her parents care about the damn van now? And if they actually do find him alive, do you think he or his family will really be worried much about whether a stolen property charge is tacked on to a murder charge?

It is more of a "big picture" type deal. People have used that van and his actions regarding it as the basis for a whole lot of assumptions regarding this case.

I don't think anyone is arguing that the van is an important matter in the case. But some people are trying to say that BL stole the van, thereby implicating him in at least some criminal activity, if not the murder of GP.

Where have you seen this? Everything calls it "Brian Laundrie's parent's home" and BL returned to "his parents' home".

She may have stayed there, but I haven't seen much that it was her main "residence" when not traveling?

Exactly. These people burn down autozones and riot in the streets over rapists and murderers and armed robbers getting shot by police and then bitch about people being interested in a white girl that was murdered. The lack of self awareness is hilarious.

The argument about whether the van was stolen or not have been going on for over 250 pages. But I am sure you will figure it out.

If he didn't have a legal right to operate the van to take it to FLA, whether through express consent, implied consent through previous actions, or some kooky communal property theory which seems to be being advanced ITT, he absolutely could. If you and I take a road trip and we split driving my car, which I obviously consented to whether expressly or implicitly, it doesn't give you a right to drive it to wherever or whenever you like. Also, returning it to her home doesn't create lawful authority after the fact. That's like saying a carjacker didn't commit a crime because he drove it around, but returned the car to my home when he was done.
