I'm not sure. I've only bailed someone out for pretty minor offenses. I know you don't get that money back.
They give the money to the inmate. Your friends stole from you.

Yes, it's a felony with a 0-2 year exposure, if they choose to charge that way.

I was paid back each time. And I'm pretty sure that's the bondsman's take. Otherwise how do they make money?

No one is hiring a realtor serving life in prison without parole because he was convicted of 2nd degree murder, either.

A bondsman with no underwriter/insurance fees needed (there is only 1 in NOLA) would need about $11-12k tonight up front. That will get them some profit and take care of the jail fees. The rest of the percentage can be paid back in installments by Garret or whoever cosigns for him.

I honestly have no idea, but I'd guess 35-50k through motions, and another 25-50 to try it. Some of those guys take a lot less for media cases though. I
How many of these cases do these attorneys work at the same time? How many in a year? I’m thinking in order to make $300k-$400k a years that’s a lot of hours.
What I mean is, that’s a lot of work and hours to make $50k-$100k. I would think it would cost more than that

Yes I just looked it up. They'll come after you for the rest if they skip town. I'd never bail someone out that wasn't a dear friend or family.
quote:
The rate for a bail bond premium in Louisiana is 10% of the bond plus 2% of the bond (that will go to the sheriff's office), $30 bond fee per charge, and sometimes there are city fees as well. If the bond is under $1000, the premium is automatically $120 instead of 10%. Bail bondsman may also charge a $25 application fee.

Huge liability but it really all falls on the cosigner.
Best situation for a bondsman when the perp skips town is when the cosigner is government employed, just garnish the paycheck, sit back and collect.

I assume you always need a cosigner of some sort, no?

3-5 years active probation. He may be a multiple bill though, which isn't great in St Tammany. Didn't he have other felonies?
Posted on 1/24/18 at 8:10 pm to jdeval1
Orleans is actually 13%. There's an extra 1% split among the judges, public defenders, DA.

2 H possessions. got arrested for a 3rd. but OP DA refused to press charges. Now he is in the St. Tammany joint supposedly for probation violation on DUI 3rd offense.

I actually thought my Perlis ad on page 73 was better work.
