There better be a guaranteed stash of unclaimed diamonds in there for me to attempt.

Article with maps that show how far in the water has been drained from the cave system and the potential rainfall problems.

I’d be out of air in no time from the panic attack that would ensue

Just saw that a Thai SEAL has died due to loss of oxygen while navigating the cave.

Horrible. Praying for a good ending to this situation

The report I am seeing says the Thai authorities report a navy Seal has died. This means one of ours.

The Gardian has a name

Sad to hear, but at least it’s not one of ours.

As a former submariner who is used to confined spaces, a current geologist who deals with quaternary systems (including karst cave systems) and a PADI certified diver... frick this.

I realistically can’t see a situation where all these boys make it out alive.

I know they’re considering drilling to them because of the boys hearing animals, what are the chances of a collapse if they do this?

What a terrifying situation all around. I’ve heard they might not be able to get them until after monsoon season, in October. Imagine being told you have to stay trapped in a cave for months. I’d lose it.

No. They heard animals apparently coming from crevices reaching to the cave surface.

I know it’s a last resort, but maybe they could use dynamite or something.

I read something about blasting through the top somewhere as a last resort?

I truly have no idea about any of this, but it sure sucks. Is it true the coach took them there as some sort of initiation? He should feel bad. Not worth it and it has cost them one person now.

That seems more appropriate than my blasting idea. maybe that’s more of what I heard in passing.

Yes, because the U.S. is the only country with navy Seals.
