Poor men. Not an easy way to die for sure. Anyway I pray they recover all the missing soon so the families can have some closure. At least a measure of closure.

Prayers for the victims and their loved ones.

You have to think marine life has consumed these guys by now. Maybe not. Sad situation.

It’s kind of morbid seeing people post from back home posting as if these guys are still alive

Also, screw the idiots on FB blasting that random Talos VP because he went fishing. What is he supposed to be doing? Crying softly in a corner?

In the 1965 period of time we caught a body in a 30 foot shrimp trawl in the north west corner of lake ponchartrain. Had to tow it back to the launch to remove. Took forever to get police to show up

Has anyone kept up with the search efforts and the drama on social media associated with it? Sadly it is morphing into a “”reality” show. God Bless those families.

Yes

I can’t keep up with all of the search groups. They is a lot of infighting going on. New groups are being formed everyday. UCN is catching heat for allegedly collecting 330 grand and not spreading it around. It’s a shite show.

One of the guys from his description was walking the marsh behind the beach East of Belle Pass. He commented that he observed small fish, crabs and other critters that someone could survive on.

Come on. If someone made it to the beach they would follow the beach. They aren’t going to be catching minnows and shite for two weeks.

I think these searchers need to accept that these men have been claimed by the Gulf of Mexico.

Facebook is infested with nuts.

I was going to make a thread on it but I am still trying to sort it out.

Hope Chicken doesn’t mind us bumping this thread.

Yeah, it looks like the UCN is catching a bunch of shite for collecting a bunch of money and supposedly not doing anything.

Doesn’t that happen every time there’s a disaster and the “UCN” starts having fundraisers? Then the different organizations go after each other.

Why does anyone have to collect money for the families?

Facts are that they all have or should have very good plaintiff lawyers by now. The lawyers will provide any money needed while litigation takes place. How big will the final checks be ? I can’t count that high.

I thinks that some of these “rescue” folks are pulling on heart strings.

They are searching Lake Mechant and Sister Lake for folks. Ridiculous.

I’m trying to find out what the plans are to lift the vessel. All I’ve heard is they are removing fuel from the barge.

Anyone know who is going to salvage the barge? Smit,Bisso, etc?

One of them for Morris Bart which I cannot figure out why for the life of me. I am sure he will farm it out but a maritime claim like this isn’t exactly the same as auto accident.

Bisso is now T&T and the insurance company will select the salvage company. They will either put it out for bid or just select someone.

As of last week no one has been selected.

Are you seriously suggesting that he’s not abreast on the latest nuances of the Limitation Act of 1851? GTFO.

It’ll be interesting to see who he goes to.

From United Cajun navy: ‘We are sad to say that we are suspending our UCN organized and coordinated search efforts in the search for the 7 missing Seacor crewmen.
Others may continue in the search efforts and we wish them luck.
Others have formed ways to collect donations to fund their own search efforts and we wish everyone safety and guidance in continued search efforts.
ATV's involved in our group will still be searching the Holly Beach area today as well as the Texas Coast East towards Louisiana, while several teams will continue to provide search dogs.’
