This photo puts it into perspective. So close but so far.

I wondered about the use of divers from the northeast that are probably not familiar with O&G rigs. But that’s just me.
RonJon divers are top notch. Some of the best in the industry. It has zero to do with who got contracted out. I can promise you they are doing everything they can.

It’s not an O&G rig
It’s a lift boat
These lift boats work all over the world.
There are more than a dozen of these lift boats that have transferred to the Northeast to work in the wind farms up there.
Commercial divers are divers, Donjon is a worldwide company. Their divers are from all over the world and are trained and experienced to dive anywhere in the world.

It sucks because the remaining will be found on level 1 & the galley. I can only imagine what was going through those guys heads at the moment the liftboat flipped especially since I've been on liftboats so many times myself.

This ^^^. The offshore world is a small world. Just bc a company is based out of so and so place doesn’t mean that’s where there employees are from. Honestly in a situation like this it wouldn’t matter.
I’ve worked with ROV hands, along with diver from all over the world. It didn’t make a difference until you got a few drinks deep in the bar. Sheep shaggars, yanks, red neck, and coon asses all had equal bearing in the bar.
Offshore we were all family.

Ahah. I had seen the wind farms in west Texas, but did't realize the NE was playing that game too.

I think it has two bow tunnels and two stern tunnels. And twin screw main drives

Man I sure expected to see many more vessels around the wreck. When was that taken?

There was a long period of time in my 20s I seriously considered commercial diving. Started working on the certs I was missing to contract with law enforcement as a side gig but wanted to go full time commercial. I can thank my dad for doing everything he could to prevent me from making the move.
