5 recovered from the liftboat. No name released yet as far as I can tell. The waiting for these families has got to be agonizing and beyond frustrating.

Probably the best example of complete incompetence by DP Operators there is.
Yeah, there's one point where he is interviewed and he says something to the effect of "we had no backup plan for something like this and had no training on anything like this."
I was just sitting with my jaw dropped thinking what kind of backwoods operation is this?

Plus the one they found in Pelto? So, 6 total?

Man thats a powerful picture. From what it was last week to what it is there. Clear, calm, within clear sight of land. The sea is no joke and mother nature remains undefeated.

I think the Europeans are more by the book than the gulf. In the gulf, if the DP system fails or is overwhelmed, you drop the boat back into manual and drive the thing. Nobody uses DP joystick or backup independent joystick. That’s exactly what they should have done from the very beginning during that incident

I missed this interview yall are discussing, can you provide cliffs?
Posted on 4/19/21 at 8:26 am to TDTOM
Well I think that there are officially 8 that remain to be rescued/recovered.
And can someone remind me as I know I read it .. how deep is it down there?

So, 6 rescued, 5 recovered and 8 missing?

Pretty sure 6 recovered, 5 deceased and 8 missing.

It’s been a long time since I’ve seen The Last Breath but I just remember they were getting pushed off station and dragging the diver around by his umbilical for what seemed like forever. The DP operators tried everything except just putting the boat in manual control and driving it until it was almost too late.

50ish feet I believe.

That's what I thought I remembered ... so like 16 yards ... I think in terms of football yardage.
That doesn't seem so deep at all. Like 5/6 stories?

Okay so yall are discussing a different event. I was confused at first.

I think they were talking about a HBO (?) documentary called The Last Breath. From the sounds of it, I will never, ever watch that. The Guardian was too much for me.
