All Cardinal employees are being brought in off their jobs in the GOM. Two found and two still missing. I don’t know about the other companies. Hoping for a miracle!

Only 2? The news had it much higher just now.

Seeing the 4 missing workers families from Acadiana interviewed on Ch 3 and they have been giving no information they say. I don’t know how they can be left in the dark 36 hours into their loved ones missing. The offshore companies need to let them know something.

I would guess employees would be seacor, talos, cardinal and something from a catering company.

Saw one was a young married guy with 3 kids. Just awful.

I can't be the only one thinking:

"Does any one know where the love of God goes
When the waves turn the minutes to hours?

The searchers all say they'd have made Whitefish Bay
If they'd put fifteen more miles behind her

They might have split up or they might have capsized
They may have broke deep and took water

And all that remains is the faces and the names
Of the wives and the sons and the daughters"

Prayers for them all.

How far apart did they find the people that have been rescued?

Well, what do you want them to let them know? Not trying to sound ugly but if you don't know if they are dead or alive, what do you want them to tell the family exactly?

I hope the remaining missing are found alive.
That being said, this thread has brought out the real baws.

Thanks to Covid and layoffs I’m out of that mess.

If you were in their shoes you’d be feeling the same way. The way the families sound they have been told zero so far. The companies have to know something even if it’s small.

I'm fairly certain that they have been told their loved ones are missing and the search continues. What else would you like them to say?

Don’t they pull those legs for inspections and repairs?

Pulling the legs out is a long process, the legs go all the way to the bottom of the pad and are welded to the btm of the pad and the gusset all around on the inside of the pad. There is a ladder on the inside of the leg with several internal landings. There is also a stiffener that runs the legnth of the leg on the backside of the gear. You could climb down through the leg and inspect the inside. To inspect the outside I guess you would put it in deep water and jack it up and have the inspector check it out from the top of the leg towers.

Pulling a leg out requires it to be dry docked, cut the legs at the pontoons and have a crane big enough to lift them out. When we spliced the legs on the LB Jill and Robert they were in 3 pieces, the last piece we had our 2 biggest cranes on 1 spreader bar to lift it in place.

Would have 100% assumed there was some sort of gangway like that for vessel to rig traffic and vice versa. Not a fricking Bogue Chitto river rope swing

If you’re going up to a drilling or production rig with a crane operator present they will just pick you up in the Billy Pugh (basket). It used to be my favorite part ab going out there was riding up to the rig on the Billy Pugh

My only time riding the basket was in high seas. Wasn't cool. Rather a helicopter ride

Those are some nice baskets. Especially considering what they replaced.

The old collapsible style baskets got more people hurt than anything. I was part of the rollout of the new baskets for Chevron on the shelf and it was hell convincing the older guys to ride the new basket because they had to clip into it.

I don't know how many times I heard "I'm not riding in a crab trap"! Lol. But they came around and ended up really liking it.

Yeah it’s by far the safest way to travel up to the rig and quite enjoyable
