what do thugs driving to Kenner to rob a store have to do with Kenner's demographics, if anything in the last ten years the bad areas have improved. Lincoln Manor does not at all look like most other 95% black neighborhoods, it's very well kept.
The areas by the lake are really nice and pretty much every house in University city had been rebuilt after the storm.

Not to give too much info away, but I lived in Kenner before I moved to NYC. My folks still live there. I have noticed that the property values around my parents house have been dropping as the older middle/upper middle class families move out and new younger (mostly minority) families move in, lured by lower housing costs. To my (outside) perspective it almost looks like white flight.
Sadly, I am not terribly surprised to be reading about crime increasing as time goes on.

Believe me, our judicial system is screwed BEYOND redemption ! Judges,clerks,D.A.'s...the entire bunch, is soooooo over-whelmed by what they themselves and our legislature has created...they simply ALL throw their hands up in near total resignation ! It's ALL their fault yet they do NOTHING ! Funny thing though....unless you are a victim/witness...ALL these parties continue to get paid day after day,continuance after continuance...on and on and on and on !
