I had an instance while I was in college decades ago now where late one night just after the bars closed a girl I was somewhat seeing called me and asked me to come over to her apartment. We had not been together than night. She was out with some friends, and I was elsewhere with friends all night. While it was obvious in her tone/context on the call she had been drinking, which was not uncommon for a college kid to do, her speech was clear and in no way did it sound like she was incoherent. I myself had been drinking too, but also not incoherent. Being a 19 year old male, when a hot girl calls you to come over to her house you don't really think twice about it. Obviously, I assumed for what purpose she wanted me there. However, when I got there, she didn't want to fool around. She just wanted me to sleep with her (sleep as in actual sleep, not sex). Frankly, I felt pretty pathetic and emasculated. But since I was already there, I just slept over and I didn't try to force her to do something she didn't want to do.

The next morning she wakes up stunned to see me in the bed with her as asks "what are you doing here?" I said "you called me last night and begged me to come over." I even showed her the call history on my phone showing the exact time she called me. She said she did not remember any of the night because she took Xanbar (Xanax) while drinking. Luckily, we knew each other well and had gone out a few times over the last few weeks, so it didn't turn out to be a big deal (we actually dated for over a year after that). But that episode scared the hell out of me. Here was a girl that called me, begged me to come over, consensually wanted me to sleep in the bed with her, yet, unbeknownst to me, had no memory of the events. I remember thinking that if we would have had what for all intents and purposes would have been consensual sex and she decided in hindsight the next day she didn't want to, I would have been screwed because I would not have gotten the benefit of the doubt that SHE initiated the entire encounter. I had no idea she had taken prescription drugs. Yet, it is doubtful any of that would have mattered. I was never so happy to NOT get laid than that night because it could have led to some really bad circumstances.
