Explain how your proposed solution would impact connecting flights.

I’ve often wondered what they could do differently for carryon storage. I rarely travel with anything larger than a small carryon so I’d hate checking it but there is likely a better way.

fly 5 or 6 times a month. Never had anything stolen and have only had one bag delayed in my entire life
Good for you. I did too for a couple decades and that has not been my experience.
You must have racked thousands of sky miles on your weekly trips to Houston.

It wouldn’t

The airlines would make a lot more money turning these planes around twice as fast
You are wayyyy overstating how much it’s an impediment to the process. I doubt internal is the main delay in turning over planes (deplaning, cleaning, restocking). Especially when you double the quantity luggage handlers need to process.

Overhead bins are fine if the airlines would enforce their policies on them.
I see countless assholes boarding the plane with 3 fricking bags taking up an entire section of the bins.

Just check your bags and wait for them at the carousel.
Except sometimes you’ll be waiting for days.

It certainly wouldn't cut the turnaround time by half. The time it takes to service a plane for turnaround doesn't change much just because the passengers get off more quickly.
They would also have to hire more check-in agents, pilots, flight attendants, and baggage handlers. And the travel process wouldn't be any quicker, because all luggage would have to be checked and waited for on arrival. It also would mean planes would be heavier, because passengers would have no incentive to pack lighter in smaller bags. Bigger airports, more gate agents, more ATCs, all of which would have to be subsidized by the industry. The only thing that might get easier is pre-flight security.
Airlines are one of the most analytics dependent service industries. If this were better for their bottom lines, they would have already figured that out. They wouldn't be incentivizing people to carry on by charging for checked luggage.

Bruh. Most of my connecting flights depart within an hour of the arrival - it would.

Unpopular opinion: Overhead bins in airplanes should be eliminated.
Overhead bins were fine when there was room for 1 per passenger. As they have squeezed more seats into the plane there is less room so people aren't putting their items over their own seat. It causes a cluster when deboarding.
The airlines compounded this problem by charging for checked baggage.

Where will people stuff their full length overcoats?

Are you under the impression that people don’t check baggage on connecting flights?

Nah we need automated seat belts.
When the Pham lands they stay locked. When you get to the gate they are released three rows at a time.
The problem with getting of the plane is everyone standing up and getting in aisle all at same time.

So do mine and I check bags all the time. What’s your point?

Oh stfu. You didn’t even know that agency existed 2 weeks ago. fricking parrot.
So it's not a problem because we just learned about the issues?

It seems to take forever because you're so ready to go.
But, you'd end up just waiting longer at baggage claim and they'd likely lose a lot more stuff since it would double the amount of bags being processed to connecting flights.
I'd rather just be patient for 8 extra minutes.

This is the problem with most solutions to an existing perceived problem. People don't consider the downstream, unintended, and second order effects of their proposal.
