The Ray Charles version in Yankee Stadium 2 weeks after 9-11 made me tear up a little.

The Star Spangled Banner is a clunky amateur poem that captures a very key moment in a very connectable way and then to set it to the music of an English drinking song This song was the song of the people A drinking song would be one that they already know the tune they just need to learn the words
its Beautiful in the way Every Country has always celebrated its heroes, its histoty, its Regal right ..The Star Spangled Banner is about a battle where we took a beating and yet, we weren't down. those tough patriots, with family that had fought in the revolution, singing a song about themselves and their bro's Whilst getting drunk
The Baws were after-partying after burying their fellow Americans, and this song is about what those men gave up.
The tune was very popular amongst the veterans, the military, and the common man
