The cheerleaders didn't.
The coaches got canned for it though. This is the part that forced the University's hand IMO:

Well, if this is all true, what makes them complete dumbasses is for the coaches to be present at this event. Absolute morons.
Their presence automatically turns an otherwise harmless party in de facto sanctioned team activity. Yeah, you can't have collegiate athletes getting drunk and naked as part of official team functions.
