Calling Uclub houses spec or tract houses is ridiculous
Absolutely
People on here act like any new home built is dlsd like or spec home etc
Or the whole anything over 3K sf is now a McMansion as according to the OT(99% of whom can’t afford shite) all of these changing roof lines are just ugly
Best is posting pictures of kitchens that cost 100k+ and saying they are ugly because they have a farm house sink, are too beige etc
It’s absolutely classic OT though

Let’s be honest less than 5% of people in LA can afford houses like that, but yet we apparently have almost all of them posting on the OT. They can suddenly afford to be very picky and say uclub houses are cookie cutter contractor grade spec houses which is plain and simple fricking laughable, period
Both of these things can be true at the same time. Just because something is expensive doesn’t mean it will be desirable for the entire population

Haha so you don’t think that house is extremely nice?
No

True but $$$ /= taste. I have been in several multi-million dollar homes that are Fugly and gaudy as hell.

lot of painted brick, ship lap and farm house sinks. Maybe a barn door. Probably a faux beam exposed

That’s at minimum
Bathrooms are just as expensive

Does everyone that buys a house in UClub get one of those fancy UClub Golf Polos that guys love to wear at LSU football games like it’s a badge of honor?
Is that where they come from? I'll need to call my realtor.

Start throwing in some higher end appliances and $100k isn't going to get you much of a kitchen

It will hardly get you floors and a sub zero.

Remodel is way more expensive. 150 is about right for a million dollar home with custom cabinets and custom hood and commercial grade appliances. But you can go crazy with the hood and some of the trim and make it more. The one shown didn’t and didn’t go crazy with stove too. I wasn’t counting floors so I guess if that’s the case $200ish on million dollar home and that’s why I put 100k++
And bro really…your arse been around long enough that many of remember you are still a fricking hood rat. Don’t get all high and mighty and acting like you are above people just because you moved out to Cali.

LOL wut?
To the OP, UClub is a great place to live. If you play golf or tennis, it's even better. The gym is nice and newly upgraded, the restaurant is newly renovated, and the old pro-shop has turned into a dedicated bar. The pool area is very nice, and they always have fun activities for kids.

Can’t be said enough
SuperTaint probably hasn’t ever made above $60k a year much less knowing what a kitchen remodel cost.

100k? This is why I never use a contracture. They sub it out anyways so just go directly to the subs and a 100k kitchen becomes 40k

About six years ago, I went there to meet a woman who knew my cousin. This woman’s family had millions of dollars but this chick was crazy and rude to me. I left thinking I dodged a bullet.

No doubt there’s money to save if you act as your own contractor, but you need to know what you are doing, have time on your hands, and the ability to get good subs and you need to get them on time.
Not a lot of people can do all of that, and if you can you probably should be a builder yourself.

You won’t save $60k but you’ll probably save $20k
