Well I'm an arse. Don't know how I missed that. My apologies.

That's definitely garbage.

What's worse is there have been bills before the MS legislators that would prevent this, but key members of the house and senate accept thousands in campaign contributions from PBMs and kill the bills.

The president of MIPA sure doesn’t help either.

Everytime I go to CVS to pickup a prescription for my son I get pissed off. I told my wife she’s either going or the prescriptions are getting filled at our neighborhood pharmacy.

Cannot stand that place.

They take FOREVER to fill a prescription. Even when there is nobody in line. I use a local (Tuscaloosa Drug Company) and Brian will have me in and out in less than 5 minutes.

I hate the chain stores.

Support your local neighborhood pharmacies. I refuse to be shoved to Walgreen's or WalMart for my meds.

Those “contracts” also say you can’t disclose to the patient/customer if their prescription would be cheaper without billing it to insurance and instead charging a “cash” price

Can you tell them if they ask directly? Or are you required to lie?

That sounds accusatory, not my intent.

This sucks. Big Pharma needs to be dealt with.

Am I missing something here? PBM's are Big Insurance, not Big Pharma.
.
Pretty sure PhRMA is directly opposed to PBM's and blames high prescription costs on the PBM structure/practices.

Looks like Luigi wasn’t enough to teach these fricks their lesson. Maybe Mario Wario and Waluigi will do it.

Got tired of my PBM. Priced medications at Amazon's pharmacy. It is cheaper for me to fill without filing an insurance claim than it is to fill through insurance. I now have prescriptions filled there.

Pharmacists at CVS and Walgreens seem so miserable and sad too. Like they are annoyed that you had the audacity to come over there to fill a script.

Its because they usually have a pharmacist and 2-3 techs and are expected to run a drive thru (sometimes 2 lanes), fill scripts, type scripts, give vaccines, go through a patient portal and make calls and offer counseling and pick up reminders, make sure and ring people up at the front counter.

They probably legit need 7-8 people to adequately staff a big chain pharmacy and often times are left with 3-4.

You can thank PBMs for your 2 hour wait times at big chain pharmacies as they continue to cut staffing

Bro, this is big insurance. Has zero to do with pharma. This is chain pharmacies using their size to negotiate better pricing from a private insurance company.
If any.thing, PBms, should be heavily scrutinized and they work to restrict access for patients and drive profits for commercial insurance like United or the Blues.

Amen. These are the people that sponsor your kids sports teams, sit on your pew at church, often volunteer their resources, and generally make the local community better.
